This was by far the worst stay experience I’ve had so far. The room looked completely different from the photos provided. When we first entered, I genuinely thought we had been given the wrong room type. However, the man at reception was quite arrogant and impatient, insisting that this was the room we had booked and saying that the hotel had nothing to do with the misinformation. After I contacted Trip.com support, they reached out to the reception as well, but received essentially the same response: that it was the correct room type and that “there have been minor remodelings” and “the design or decor may vary slightly.” In the end, I was refunded £25, while the total payment was over £80. I honestly would not have booked this room at all if accurate photos of the actual room had been provided in the first place. Essentially all of the furniture is different from what is shown in the listing for the room type I booked, and there is barely any design or decor at all. I also checked the room types on the hotel’s own website and confirmed that there is no room type listed that looks like the one we were given. I understand that this is primarily the hotel’s responsibility, but I still feel it is unjustified that I had to pay for such a poor experience.

I stayed for the third time at Cabinn Aarhus Hotel and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience, primarily due to poor staff performance and a lack of basic service standards. From the beginning, the stay was marked by inefficiency. On the second day, I had to move out of room 326 due to excessive noise caused by a malfunctioning or poorly functioning ventilation system. The disturbance made it impossible to rest. Although I was reassigned to another room, the situation was handled poorly. At reception, I was incorrectly directed to room 296 (see the photo showing the room number: what is writen is 296 and the staff member verified it himself) instead of room 290. Naturally, the door did not open, forcing me to return to reception carrying all my luggage for a second time. No apology was offered, and the staff member on duty behaved rudely and inappropriately. The situation worsened on the third day. The hotel has a policy of cleaning rooms only every four days, which is already below standard. Nevertheless, I had explicitly requested cleaning for the third day in advance. I left the room at 9:00 AM and returned at 8:30 PM to find that nothing had been done: the garbage bin was full, used towels remained on the floor, and the bed was not arranged. When I reported this at reception, the staff responded sarcastically, asking how I knew the room had not been cleaned. After describing the obvious condition of the room, they offered to move me again, which I declined, as I did not want to pack and unpack once more. I had also recently undergone surgery on my left humerus following a severe fracture a few months ago. I simply requested clean towels and was willing to remain in the uncleaned room. I also asked for information on how to file a complaint. At that point, the situation escalated further. While I was provided with a management email address, my request for an official complaint channel or a regulatory body contact (as is standard practice in Denmark) made the staff member visibly irritated. Another staff member then joined the conversation, although the request was straightforward. Their tone escalated, they became aggressive, and they ultimately stated, as a threat: “If you are not OK, you can pack and leave.” This response was entirely inappropriate, especially given that the issue resulted from their failure to provide the requested service. In more than 30 years of staying in hotels worldwide, and after three years living in Denmark, I have never encountered such a combination of inefficiency, lack of professionalism, and outright rudeness and more importantly, threats. The experience was not only frustrating but also unacceptable by any reasonable standard of hospitality. I will not return.

Helpful staff, good location, reasonable price, clean and comfortable.

Good location, good common spaces, essential but really functional rooms. Not so easy to reach by car, careful with restricted access and park.

The rooms are tiny, but well maintained. Everything is super close, walking distance. The room had a kettle and a small tv. However, it gets loud in the morning because of the seagulls (the hotel is close to the water) and there were often parties and gatherings in the hotel and surroundings. Other than that, it was a good stay 😊

We created a booking on ***********, but the hotel canceled the booking because they We’re not able to process a payment in advance. Immediately called them and called *********** and asked for the original price to be restored and offered to pay the full amount there on the phone. They declined and instead wanted to charge an additional $500 for the same booking that had to existed only a few hours earlier, the booking was canceled less than one day before travel which included minors.

Small and clean room, good for solo trip.

Really tiny room. AC doesn’t exist. Ok for short stays, avoid for longer trips and during the warm period. I would also skip the breakfast as there was barely anything else besides scrambled eggs and cold cuts.

The hotel has a very good location. The room was nice and spacious enough, and the breakfast was good.
