The Empress Hotel & Adult Nightclub

Overall good experience; especially impressed with Management accommodation when our late check-in reservation somehow got canceled. Rooms are small, but doable; and advertised beach view requires a fourth floor stay to see over the building between the beach and the hotel.

I’ve stayed here a lot over the years but unfortunately this last time was horrible. They neglect to mention a dance party going on until 3am. Our room is literally shaking as I write this. Constant thumping for 5 hours straight is maddening. They should have told us. I’ll be contesting my credit card charge.

as others have noted, very straight friendly. I took my Fam -- wife of several decades, son and 2 daughters. we had a fabulous time. neither the staff nor guests care a whit what your orientation is. all were absolutely courteous and a fun crew. and Asbury is unstoppab!le

Stayed one Tuesday night overnight at the end of summer for a concert at the Stone Pony. Area including the building itself looked a little rundown maybe a bit old school but the location was perfect from the venue and the boardwalk. Got free parking right outside the door, five steps to the car. We were about to be charged higher for the room than we had been quoted, but when I pointed this out they reduced it even more. The room was a one bed ocean view, the only downside to that was maybe the building across the street was slightly in the way and the room didn't have wifi. They offered to switch our room but it wasn't worth moving and allowed us to focus on our trip more. Otherwise everything seemed neat and clean, and the bed as comfy as we had hoped. We liked the area and wished we had more time to explore it. Having left the concert early since we weren't there for the main act, we still got to hear them playing from all across the boardwalk. We especially enjoyed the old school pinball arcade museum down the boardwalk, flat fee for entrance then play all the old games your heart desires. That plus an ice cream and a lemonade stand made a perfect date night. The stay and events were great for a younger couple (19) and maybe people with more travel experience could want more (judging from other reviews that made us a little nervous here and there) but we were more than content. They even shipped my hoodie that I left in the closet to Boston though it did take a couple of weeks.

This hotel is welcoming with a wonderful front desk staff! They kindly answered all of my questions before I arrived -- and were also very friendly at check-in. Room was ready early and it was very clean and comfortable. (Room had a small coffee maker and flat-screen TV). While there I had a small issue with my room, and maintenance came up right away and fixed the problem. This hotel is in a fantastic location -- right across the street from the beach and boardwalk. (And also across the street from the Stone Pony, so if you happen to be going to a show here, this is the place to stay!) If you're around on the weekend, the show on Friday night in the club is a lot of fun, too! Our only issue was balcony door was difficult to open, but weather wasn't great, so we did not use the balcony anyway.

The Empress Hotel was truly exceptional. Check in was easy. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We really felt welcomed! We were given room 334 ( ocean front) which had a great wrap around balcony with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a bit dated but SPOTLESS!! This hotel's location is ideal, across the street from the boardwalk, ocean, many restaurants and bars (walking distance). This hotel is highly recommended for outstanding service and a well appointed room. We will definitely be back. I really wished I remembered the woman's name that checked us in - she is a GEM!!! If we do remember I will write a note to the hotel. We loved our stay at the Empress Hotel, just what the doctor ordered after a very long challenging illness. Thank you!

Such a fun place, and everyone on staff was amazing, even housekeeping was perfect, and thoughtful. Can’t wait to come back in the summer! Thanks for a memorable weekend. Great value, too! Very clean, comfy beds, and even greeted at a super late check in with friendly staff and a couple of waters! Thanks!

Are you ever going to renovate or remodel the rooms 🤔seriously hasn't changed since the 90s. Sad. Even some of the places in ocean Grove have done that. And with the new hotels in AP it's embarrassing. Holiday Inn has nicer rooms. Too bad you don't have a good restaurant either. Hope you can get it together soon.

Just have to say, that the hotel may be a little bit older, but it has not lost its charm in so many ways! Can’t beat that pool, the nightclub on the weekends, how close it is to the ocean, or even the rates in the summertime for that matter. The staff is so friendly and helpful, from the maid service all the way up to their general manager, Kristin, whom is not only GREAT at her job, but is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet, with the sunniest disposition! LOVE IT HERE!!!! You’d be foolish not to book a stay while you can, and I challengel anyone to visit and tell me that you don’t have the best time ever!!!
