Profound heritage of kimono culture: Fukuoka's kimono culture has a long history. From imitating the costumes of the Sui and Tang dynasties in the Nara period to the kimono waist bag formed under the influence of Christian missionaries in the Muromachi period, the kimono has continuously evolved in the long history of Fukuoka, forming a style with local characteristics.

Perfect fusion of scenery and costumes: Every inch of Fukuoka's scenery is like a stage carefully laid out for kimono. Especially in the cherry blossom season, wearing colorful kimonos and strolling through historical places such as Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and Fukuoka Castle is like traveling back to the prosperous Heian period.

Fukuoka: A Variety of Spice Curry Plates Little by Little.

🍛 Kubo Curry Just a 3-minute walk from Takamiya Station, you'll find this curry shop suddenly appearing in an extremely old apartment in a super residential area. Recently, a new branch has opened in Daimyo, but this is the main store.✨️ Here, you can choose between the Kubo Curry Plate and Biryani Curry. Additionally, you can choose between cilantro or pea sprouts for the vegetables on top, so if you don't like cilantro, don't hesitate to say so.🙋♀️ (I don't like it either, so I always choose pea sprouts.) The best part about this plate is that you can enjoy a variety of flavors.🌟 📍 3-17-10, Oohkusu, Minami-ku, Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka 815-0082

Hakata Specialty: Ichifuji Beef Offal Hot Pot

Hakata Specialty: Ichifuji Beef Offal Hot Pot

Beef offal hot pot is one of Kyushu's specialties, and Ichifuji is a must-visit restaurant for this dish, even for locals. There are three branches in Fukuoka City, and this time we visited the Hakata branch, which is just a 3-minute walk from the west exit of Hakata Station! The restaurant uses a scanning system for ordering and offers multiple language options for customers, which is very considerate! They use their own secret miso broth, filled with carefully hand-cut Kuroge Wagyu beef offal, tofu, burdock, cabbage, and chives. Paired with beer, it's absolutely unbeatable! Fascinating Fukuoka: A Colorful Journey of Flowers and Food

In April 2023, my family embarked on an unforgettable trip to Fukuoka. Accompanied by my mum, sister, and wife, we discovered a delightful array of experiences that left us with cherished memories. Our first stop was Nokoshima Island Park, a haven of natural beauty. The park was adorned with an abundance of vibrant flowers, creating a kaleidoscope of colors that left us in awe. My mum, particularly, was delighted by the picturesque scenery, and her contented smile mirrored the enchanting surroundings. Next on our itinerary was the renowned Marinoa City Fukuoka, a paradise for shopaholics. This sprawling outlet offered an extensive selection of stores, fulfilling our shopping cravings. We indulged in retail therapy, finding great bargains and adding fashionable pieces to our wardrobes. Of course, a trip to Fukuoka wouldn't be complete without savoring its delectable cuisine. The city boasted a culinary scene that tantalized our taste buds. We couldn't resist the allure of authentic ramen and succulent yakiniku, which left us craving for more. Each culinary adventure was a gastronomic delight, allowing us to delve into the rich flavors and culinary traditions of Fukuoka. Our exploration extended beyond Fukuoka to the charming city of Kumamoto, known for its ubiquitous mascot, Kumamon. Everywhere we turned, we were greeted by the adorable bear, spreading happiness and cuteness. Kumamoto's vibrant atmosphere and the endearing presence of Kumamon created a cheerful ambiance that resonated with our family. One highlight of our visit to Kumamoto was the Kumamon Port in Yatsushiro. This haven for Kumamon enthusiasts showcased larger-than-life statues of the beloved character, beckoning us to capture memorable photos. It was a paradise for Kumamon fans, and we reveled in the joyous atmosphere that surrounded us. Despite encountering heavy rain during our visit to Aso, we remained undeterred in our pursuit of adventure. Aso's renowned night scene, adorned with a blanket of stars, eluded us due to the inclement weather. However, we made the most of our time by exploring the Aso Volcano Museum, immersing ourselves in the captivating history and geology of the region. It was a unique experience that deepened our understanding of the natural wonders that shape our world. Our journey concluded with a visit to Nabegataki Falls Park, where we encountered a breathtaking waterfall. What made this experience truly special was the ability to walk inside the cascading waters, allowing us to embrace nature's grandeur up close. It was a thrilling and refreshing encounter that invigorated our spirits. As we bid farewell to Fukuoka, we reflected on the multitude of experiences that made this family trip extraordinary. From the vibrant floral landscapes of Nokoshima Island Park to the culinary delights of Fukuoka and the endearing charm of Kumamoto, each destination left an indelible mark on our heart. #timetotravel #Fukuoka #Family #Kumamon #Ramen #Shopping

Fukuoka Daimyo Restaurant - Black Pork Tonkatsu Kuromatsu Daimyo Branch
해외여행

Fukuoka Daimyo Restaurant - Black Pork Tonkatsu Kuromatsu Daimyo Branch

If you want to enjoy authentic Japanese tonkatsu in a quiet and sophisticated atmosphere, we recommend 'Kurobuta Tonkatsu Kuromatsu' located in Daimyo, Fukuoka. As the name suggests, this restaurant specializes in thick tonkatsu made from black pork, offering a delightful combination of juicy, tender meat and crispy batter. The price range for a tonkatsu set meal is approximately 1,500 to 2,000 yen, which is quite satisfactory considering the high-quality meat used. The pork, which has a good balance of fat, is characterized by its deep and rich flavor. When paired with the homemade sauce, the umami of the meat is further enhanced. The set meal includes rice, miso soup, and cabbage salad, making it a well-rounded and filling meal. The interior of the restaurant features a warm wooden design with soft background music, making it a great spot for solo dining, quiet meals, or dates. What sets this place apart from other tonkatsu restaurants is its ability to deliver a clean taste without the typical greasiness of fried food. If you want to fully enjoy the rich flavor of black pork tonkatsu, Kuromatsu in Daimyo, Fukuoka is a must-visit. Hakata's Guardian Shrine - Fukuoka's Most Popular Shrine

Hakata's Guardian Shrine - Fukuoka's Most Popular Shrine

🌈Hakata's Guardian Shrine - Fukuoka's Most Popular Shrine ‼️When in Fukuoka, you must visit Kushida Shrine. In addition to its proximity to the transportation hub of Fukuoka Station, Kushida Shrine also boasts a rich history. ✅While there are nearly 100,000 shrines of various sizes in Japan, shrines of Kushida Shrine's scale are rare. We may think of shrines as places of worship, but many festivals, cultural events, and even personal celebrations can be held at shrines. 😎Kushida Shrine publishes a monthly list of events, including many folk activities. As a result, the shrine is bustling with people almost every day. 🌈The torii gate here is a Shinmei-style torii (with right-angled pillars and lintels). There are many theories about the origin of torii gates, with the most common being that they were inspired by ancient Chinese archways. In Japan today, torii gates are seen as pathways connecting the divine and the mundane. ❤️Fortune-telling and fortune interpretation are also very popular here. If you draw a bad fortune, fold it with the written side facing inward and tie it to the designated rack at the shrine. A ceremony will be held to pray for blessings and resolve the bad fortune. If you draw a good fortune, fold it and take it home for safekeeping.

Fukuoka's Unmanned Hotel: A Family-Friendly Choice

My first experience staying at an unmanned hotel was positive, with no significant inconvenience. The hotel is located in Sumiyoshi, surrounded by a residential area, making it very quiet at night. The room is clean, featuring a terrace, kitchen, washing machine, and more, which is convenient for family trips. The bathroom is equipped with heating and a clothes drying function; the toilet is in a separate location, adding to the convenience. 📍Grand base Sumiyoshi

A Journey to Discover Hidden Gourmet Gems

This Fukuoka gourmet trip was all about discovering hidden gems without relying on famous spots, using various sources to find great places on our own. The first place we visited was 'Take Gyoza University'. Located just off Watanabe Street and close to our hotel, we decided to go there for lunch. Their most popular dish seems to be the fried chicken set meal, but we opted for something more local and ordered the Hakata bite-sized gyoza set meal. The adorable bite-sized gyoza came in a set of 15. Despite their small size, they were gone in no time. With free refills on rice, it's a great spot for local workers and students. This was a delightful discovery on our journey. Address: 1-1-13 Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture

Brick by Brick: Exploring Fukuoka’s Timeless Red Brick Culture Center

#asiatrip Stepping into the Fukuoka City Red Brick Culture Center in Tenjin was like walking through a gateway to the past, wrapped in a stunning modern cityscape! The striking red brick architecture stood out beautifully against the vibrant buzz of Fukuoka’s streets. Built in 1909, this historic building once served as a trading company and now hosts cultural events and exhibitions. The intricate details of the design left me in awe, and the peaceful ambiance inside was a perfect contrast to the bustling Tenjin area outside. Located right in the heart of the city, it’s a must-see spot that combines history, art, and breathtaking views of Fukuoka’s lively cityscape. A gem for culture and architecture lovers!

Super Great Food @ 麺処 三喜 春吉本店

Super Great Food @ 麺処 三喜 春吉本店

#hiddengems At first, we found it while looking for a place to eat breakfast near my accommodation. The restaurant looked old, but it was very clean and tidy. All the food we ate were neat and delicious. Of course, when it comes to a restaurant, taste is the most important, but not only is it delicious, but the owner and his wife are so cute and kind. This is a restaurant where local Japanese people eat simply and quickly (with good turnover). This place is also cheap and delicious to some extent. They only have a Japanese menu on the wall but we managed to order by showing the pictures online. Highly recommended!
