It's located in Songshan Lake Ecological Scenic Area, Dongguan, and admission is free. I drove there and navigated directly to the University Road entrance of the Songhu Yanyu Parking Lot. The parking fee is cheap, only CNY 10 per time. The best time to visit is from mid-January to February, when the scenery is beautiful. There are many things to do here. My favorite is cycling around the lake. You can rent a bicycle or an electric bike and enjoy the scenery while riding. You can also camp or have a picnic. Find a lawn, lay out a tablecloth, put out some delicious food, and chat with friends. It's so relaxing. Walking and running are also great, and it's a perfect place to take your kids. There are also many places to take photos. You must visit Songhu Yanyu Road, which has fairy-tale castles on one side and beautiful woods and flower fields on the other. I took many photos there, and they looked great without much editing. There's also the Huawei Creek Back Slope Village Bridge, which is amazing at sunset! Around 5 pm, the light shines on you, and any photo you take looks like a European movie. You can't miss the yellow tabebuia forest either. The yellow tabebuia flowers are particularly eye-catching. Taking photos in the flower fields or having a picnic by the lake feels like being in a painting. Let me share some tips with you. You can bring a picnic mat, some water, fruit, and snacks when cycling, but don't bring too much, or it'll be a burden. It's best to start playing at noon so you can play until the afternoon and see the beautiful sunset. There are many rental options, including single, double, four-person, and parent-child bikes, which cost about CNY 40 to 80 per day. There are more people on Sundays than on Saturdays, so try to go early, or it'll be hard to find a parking space. Although it's winter, there are still many mosquitoes, so remember to bring mosquito repellent and anti-itch lotion. Songshan Lake is amazing, and I'm already planning to go again.
