This small town has only about 60000 inhabitants but is a very important town in the aviation industry because Count Zeppelin invented and constructed the Zeppelin which is a cigar like 2 chamber construction filled with not flammable helium gas! And yes it flies until nowadays on a clear day (2hours 260 Euros)! There are many shops in the pedestrian area and a lake promenade with many restaurants with a beautiful view of the Swiss snow mountains! Don’t forget to climb up the Moleturm! Around the city there are a lot of apple and wine growers! (photo 10) Getting There - by Ferry (car), boat🚢or bus from Constance, direct trains rom Ravensburg, Lindau, Radolfszell Attractions - 1. Buchhorn fountain (photo 6) Hotels - We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express 3* with free breakfast and parking Plaza Hotel Föhr am Bodensee 4* Food & Restaurants - My wife wanted a burger at MC Donald’s and I had a wrap which was quite good! I would have preferred one on the lake promenade but there was no way😂 Shopping- local wine: I had a red Hagnauer which was pretty good🍷 #summervacation

Beautiful experience of lakes and mountains Departing from Stuttgart, I arrived in Friedrichshafen after about an hour and a half of train travel. The curved trees were reflected in the calm lake, as charming and intoxicating as a garden in the water. I sat quietly on a bench by the lake, silently admiring the magnificent natural scenery in front of me. The breeze blew on my face, and the fresh air came to my face, making me feel unprecedentedly comfortable. The rolling green mountains in the distance looked particularly beautiful in the sun, and even more brilliant and moving against the backdrop of the lake. This wonderful feeling of immersing in the embrace of nature is undoubtedly the biggest gain of this trip. Although Fürthhamn has a short history, its industrial manufacturing occupies a very important position in modern German history. Fürthshafen is a city located on the northern shore of Lake Constance in southern Germany, on a bay on the southwestern edge of the Schussen River, close to the borders of Switzerland and Austria. Founded in 1811, Fürttemberg was part of the New Kingdom of Württemberg, an ally of France during the Napoleonic Wars. It was named after King Frederick I of Württemberg, who privileged it as a free port and transshipment point for the kingdom's Swiss trade. King William I continued to improve the city, including the purchase of the ship William. Government ministers and high-ranking officials built villas around the Royal Castle, and the city was visited by many foreign tourists, including Russian Tsar Alexander II. In 1847, the first track of the Royal Württemberg Railway was laid, connecting the port with Ravensburg. In 1850 a connection was made to Heilbronn, and in 1869 a ferry to Romanshorn in Switzerland began operating. Ferdinand von Zeppelin established his famous airship factory in the late 19th century. On July 2, 1900, the 128m long Zeppelin airship LZ 1 successfully took off from the floating hangar. Other aerospace companies, including Maybach, were also established in Fürthshafen to help serve an industry that was a major driving force in World War I. The presence of Zeppelin, Maybach, Dorni and ZF, as well as the factory that produced the world's first long-range ballistic missile V-2, was also located in Fürttemberg, making it an important industrial center in Germany during World War II. As a result, the city became a target of Allied bombing between June 1943 and February 1945. The most accurate one occurred on April 28, 1944, and destroyed much of the old city center.
