Hello, dear friends, hello everyone. Recently, our family embarked on an unforgettable journey to the dreamlike Longtou Mountain. Here, we not only enjoyed the magnificent sunrise but also experienced the cool and pleasant natural scenery. It was truly a refreshing experience for both body and mind. 📍 **Destination**: Hanzhong Longtou Mountain 🚗 **Transportation**: We chose to take the high-speed train and then a taxi. The high-speed train took only 1 hour to reach Hanzhong Station. We then tasted delicious wooden barrel fish locally, and took a taxi for about 150 yuan, reaching our destination in about 1 hour. 🎫 **Tickets and Accommodation**: We booked the Yunshang Hotel on the mountain top in advance, which included the ticket and cable car fees. The hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a buffet restaurant and activity center. If the weather permits, there is also a bonfire party at night. The cost-performance ratio is really high. 🚠 **Tour Route**: After arriving at the visitor center, we took the cable car and then the escalator, reaching the mountain top easily in about 20 minutes. There are trails on the mountain top, and along the tour route, we can visit various viewing platforms to enjoy the sunrise, sunset, and sea of clouds. The entire tour takes about 2 to 3 hours. ✅ **Tips**: 1. There are supermarkets, restaurants, and noodle shops on the mountain top, with very reasonable prices. 2. The temperature in the morning and evening can be slightly lower, so it is recommended to bring a light jacket, especially if you plan to watch the sunrise early in the morning, keeping warm is very important. This trip to Longtou Mountain not only allowed us to appreciate the grandeur of nature but also brought our family closer together. Hanzhong. Shanhe temple. This is very small temple, even could be named tiny, if there is no second floor. Yes, this is one building acting like a temple and at the same time as a gate to the Shimen scenic area. The temple and its pass look like greeting the guests and welcoming to the area. From the second floor the first good view along the river appears in front of eyes. #holidayvacation

Hanzhong. The small city at the border between Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces. This place is imitation of silk road city. Actually, looks pretty original, I can say, unexpectedly in that place taking into account the region. The buildings are new and street corners look pure clean. Pretty good option for taking pictures. There is no admission. Available with public transportation. #holidayvacation

Lovers bridge at Shimen Scenic area in Hanzhong city. Well, yeah, scenic area in the valley without lovers bridge connecting two sides and lying above the river? Is it possible? No. And this is great idea for that place. When walking, the bridge is shaking that's pretty funny. Yes, this is very funny place. People Kiley play there and take a pictures. Shimen Dam, also called Shimen Reservoir is strategically important place for the Hanzhong city. That was my first time to come and see the Dam. It was very interesting to got to know how does it function. And area surrounding the Dam is admirable. Very good for taking pictures and for long distance walking. Not overcrowded. Fresh humid air makes the walking and climbing really pleasant. #holidayvacation

Hanzhong Shimen Catwalk Scenic Area. Hanzhong is a, small city located in place where Shaanxi province borders Sichuan. Yes, the city is surrounded by many hills and it's moderate climate allows to culture tea there. Well, this scenic area depicted below is one if the most important landmarks around the city. It easy to be reached by public transportation. Scenic spot includes installations, regional history introduction, sculptures, bridges and... of course serpent shaped pathways going through the hills behind the city dam. Pretty interesting place for exploration. #holidayvacation

It was the place where Liu Bangjing worshipped the heavens and the earth, worshipped Han Xin as the birthplace of the generals and the birthplace of the Han Dynasty dynasty. I made a special trip to Hanzhong just for Longtou Mountain! It was totally worth it! The sea of clouds and the cliffside walkway at Longtou Mountain are absolutely breathtaking, especially that sleek, curved walkway—perfect for photos and worth every penny of the ticket price. 🌿Destination Guide: Longtou Mountain is located in Nanzheng District, Hanzhong City, not too far from downtown. It’s all about that "fairyland vibe"—the mountaintop is often shrouded in clouds, and the creatively designed cloud ladder and walkway make you feel like you’re walking on air. Summer visits are especially pleasant, with temperatures around 20°C (68°F) at the summit, much cooler than the city—perfect for escaping the heat! 🧭Attraction Tips: Must-visit spots are the Cloud Ladder and the Cliffside Walkway! HanZhong being one of the most historically significant city back in Han Dynasty (and post-Han Three Kingdom period), it packs a lot of exhibition of Han leaders that is usually less emphasized in other museums (other museums tend to focus more on the latter dynasties). So to get a complete sense of the history of China, taking your time to visit this museum will be both worth the time and money—wait, it doesn’t need to worth the money because it’s absolutely free! #springitinerary While most people associate spring with cherry blossom (I did too), it’s easy to forget about the beauty of other flowers blossoming. For example, rapeseed flowers. During my trip to Hanzhong, Shaanxi, I had no idea that Hanzhong was famous for rapeseed flower, nor that it was in the season of blossoming. But thankfully we managed to be reminded and be a part of this once-in-a-year event. There were a handful of rapeseed flower field in Hanzhong. But some of the bigger ones were rather far away, and we were on a rush, so we only went for the one in the northeast of the city, which was pretty enough of an experience for me and my friend.

Hanzhong borders Guangyuan and Bazhong in Sichuan to the south, Xi'an and Baoji to the north, and Longnan to the west. It derives its name from the Han River flowing through the region and has been poetically called "Tianhan" (Heavenly Han) since ancient times. During the Xia Dynasty to the Western Zhou period, the Bao State was established here. Later, the Chu State set up Hanzhong Commandery in Ankang along the middle reaches of the Han River. During the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, it was part of Nanzheng, alternately controlled by the Ba-Shu region and the Qin State. In the early Western Han Dynasty, Liu Bang was appointed King of Han in Nanzheng and spent five years conquering Chu to unify China, retaining "Han" as the dynastic name. Key attractions include Liping Scenic Area, Zibai Mountain Scenic Area, Hanzhong Museum, Ancient Han Terrace, and Shimen Plank Road Scenic Area. Tianhan Jingyi Hotel is situated by the Han River Wetland Park, offering beautiful surroundings and just a ten-minute drive from the Xi'an-Hanzhong Expressway interchange. As Hanzhong's finest five-star resort hotel, this marks my third visit. The first was years ago during a road trip to Gannan and northern Sichuan when many roads were still challenging, before the Xi'an-Hanzhong Expressway opened—truly experiencing the adage "The road to Shu is harder than climbing to heaven." This 1.5-month southwestern journey began in Xi'an, with dramatically improved transportation and hotels compared to years past—flights and high-speed rails made travel effortless through Chongqing, Kunming, and Tengchong. The latter half was a self-drive tour via Dali, Lijiang, and Shangri-La, returning along the Beijing-Kunming Expressway at a leisurely pace of 200-300km daily through Panzhihua, Xichang, Ya'an, Chengdu, and Qingchuan, ending in Hanzhong. Staying again at the familiar Tianhan Jingyi Hotel—peaceful, with fresh air—I enjoyed easy access to Han River Wetland Park via the back door with my room key. The breakfast buffet was excellent, though I also tried local specialty "Huang Lading" fish outside. After a relaxing day, I drove back to Chang'an across the Qinling Mountains. Beautiful moments—farewell, Southwest!
