#localescapes Sky Plaza is located in Natividad a small town of Pangasinan. This ecotourism destination is located atop a hill in Brgy. Batchelor East. This is popular for pilgrims and nature lovers. The park features grotto of the Virgin Mary, a 30-foot Holy Cross and a 40-foot statue of Christ Redeemer or locals call it "Ayat ni Apo Jesus" or God's Love Statue. As we are not into hiking much, we weren't able to reach where the holy cross and the statue of Christ are. It was too hot to continue walking so we decided not to instead we just enjoyed the view and had some snacks and drinks. The scenery is still great. #localescapes My husband and I stayed in Pangasinan at my friend's house. Little did we know that she lives not far from the Water Dam in San Roque. We visited the old one only since we weren't allowed to enter where the new dam is. It was amazing to see this kind of place. There's actually an old kind of building where you can enter and check the place out. My knees were shaking though. I'm not a fan of heights on the contrary of my husband, he enjoyed the view being on top. The weather was nice so as the water. Side-trip in Colibra Island Are you in for an island hopping? Make sure to visit Colibra Island which is just about 15-20 minutes boat ride from Villa Balinmanok. The resort also offers a boat for rent going to Colibra for Php1,500.00 day-tour and Php2,000.00 overnight (good for 8-10) people. Colibra Island can be explored in a day-tour but I would recommend an overnight stay. Why? This island has everything a backpacker and an island person wants. Me and my fiancé, who are both Catholics, visited this gorgeous place on as we drove from Manila to Baguio. The nature, environment and scenery is a beautiful gift of our Heavenly Father that reminds us of His incredible artistry. A beautiful climb, whose difficulty beautifully allows you to empathise with the Lord’s passion as we are accompanied by a beautiful Stations of the Cross all the way. Parking is cheap although we were charged by two different people - decided not to argue as it was still cheap regardless.
