The ceiling is made of metal parts. I don't know how to describe it, but it's very entertaining. We enjoyed viewing the interior and exterior of the structure at different times of the day. There are conference and performance venues within Haapan, as well as a fine restaurant on the third floor, which is rumored to have a stunning view of the harbor. Although Reykjavik has hundreds of years of history, the city feels very fresh. The Harpa complex adds vitality and youthfulness to this great city. The concert hall has a great gift shop selling local crafts. Even if your stay is short, be sure to visit and walk into this building. As an animal lover, the zoo is a must-visit place. This is a very small park but if you like animals then it is clearly worth it. The animals were well cared for and were all happy. We saw some close encounters with Icelandic wildlife – seals, reindeer, mink, Icelandic horses, a “blue” Arctic fox and some farm animals that were kept indoors for the winter along with some very cute critters. I recommend watching the seals being fed, they are quite entertaining. There are cafes and toilet facilities on site, and the prices are not as expensive as those in foreign zoos.
