Tokyo Cherry Blossom Viewing - A Floral Wonderland at Showa Memorial Park
Showa Memorial Park in Tokyo is a place where the beauty of all four seasons unfolds in unique ways, making it a destination worth visiting multiple times without ever growing tired of it. Especially in early April, when cherry blossoms and rapeseed flowers bloom simultaneously, the delicate pink cherry blossoms paired with the vibrant yellow rapeseed flowers against a backdrop of blue skies and lush greenery create an unbelievably stunning scene.
The park boasts over 30 varieties and 1,500 cherry trees. During cherry blossom season, golden rapeseed flowers, colorful tulips, and other blooms compete for attention, creating a vivid floral display. Many visitors enjoy picnicking under the cherry trees, adding a touch of springtime romance to the atmosphere.
To reach Showa Memorial Park, take the Nambu Line to Tachikawa Station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the park's outer area, and another 10-minute walk to the ticket booth inside. Admission is ¥450, granting access to a vast sea of flowers without the crowds, making it highly recommended.

Reminiscent of Tokyo's autumn fairy tale: Showa Memorial Park
#2024TravelReview
The Showa Memorial Park was built in 1983 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Emperor Showa's reign. The park covers an area of 1.65 square kilometers. There are two ginkgo "tunnels" in the park: "Katarai no Ichiou Namiki (98 trees, 300m)" and "Kanal Yanai (106 trees, 200m)" at the Tachikawa entrance, as well as a traditional Japanese garden and pond. From Shinjuku, you can take a direct train to Nishi-Tachikawa Station in as little as half an hour, and Showa Kinen Park is just a 1-minute walk from the station, which is very convenient. The park offers bicycle rentals and a small train service, which makes it easier to explore than on foot.
The most beautiful autumn season is at the end of November. The first choice areas to visit are definitely the Japanese garden and the Ginkgo biloba area. I believe that after seeing the photos, you will feel that there is no reason not to come here in autumn. There are also limited-time lighting events at night during the autumn leaf season!

Tokyo Showa Kinen Park-Golden ginkgo trees interweave into a golden tunnel
Tokyo's Showa Kinen Park is an ideal place to admire ginkgo trees, especially in autumn when their leaves turn golden yellow, creating a spectacular sight. There are two main ginkgo avenues in the park. As soon as you enter the park, you can see rows of golden ginkgo trees interwoven into a golden tunnel. The ginkgo trees on both sides shine golden in the sun, attracting many tourists to take photos.
The best viewing period is from early to late November every year. During this period, the leaves of the ginkgo trees will gradually turn yellow and form a golden carpet on the ground, making people feel as if they are in a fairy tale world. In addition to ginkgo, the park also has other autumn flowers and a beautiful Japanese garden, where visitors can take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the beautiful autumn time.
Showa Kinen Park is easily accessible, and is approximately a 10-minute walk from Tachikawa Station.

Tokyo Attractions|Famous Ginkgo Biloba Viewing Spot in the Suburbs of Tokyo—Showa Kinen Park
#Ginkgo #Maple
Attractions: National Government Showa Memorial Park
📍Address: 3173 Midori-cho, Tachikawa City, Tokyo
🕰️Business hours: 9:30~17:00 (until 18:00 on Saturdays)
💰Average consumption per person: ¥450
💞Recommendation reason:
"#National Government Showa Memorial Park" was built in 1983 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Emperor Showa's accession to the throne. Located in Tachikawa City, it covers an area of 160 hectares, an area equivalent to 40 Tokyo Domes, and has different beautiful scenery in each season. In addition to the natural beauty, there are also recreational facilities such as children's play equipment, swimming pools, bicycle paths, boats, barbecue areas, etc.
Transportation Tips: The route with the fewest transfers is to take the Chuo Rapid Line from JR Shinjuku Station. It takes 34 minutes to reach JR Nishi-Tachikawa Station, which is connected to the park entrance, Nishi-Tachikawa Exit, by an overpass. If you get off at JR Tachikawa Station, you will need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the Akebono Exit of the park.
Entering Tachikawaguchi, you will soon arrive at the CANAL area, where ginkgo trees are planted symmetrically on both sides of the fountain. About 200 meters long. The yellow ginkgo leaves covering the road look like a golden carpet, dreamy and magical. Every year, the lights are turned on from dusk, presenting a beautiful view that is different from the daytime.

[📍Tachikawa] Just like Singapore🇸🇬Marina Bay Sands, 26 minutes from Shinjuku🐬♨️
SORANO HOTEL is a new concept hotel that was born in Tachikawa, Tokyo. The concept is [well-being] to be healthy in mind and body. It is only 26 minutes from Shinjuku, and you can fly away to an extraordinary place and enjoy various healing activities such as food, hot springs, spa, fitness and workshops. The whole town is filled with greenery, and it is a wonderful space wherever you look! Guests can enjoy free drinks in the lounge. After eating at the restaurant in GREEN SPRINGS, I spent a relaxing time in my room while eating side dishes and wine that I bought in the basement of Isetan Tachikawa. All rooms have a balcony and a park view, and the minimum size is 52㎡ or more! Comfortable size. The lush greenery of the park and the sky seen from the large windows make it hard to believe that you are in Tokyo. This is a recommended spot in Tokyo where you can feel the extraordinary. 📍Sorano Hotel Address: 3-1 W1 Midoricho, Tachikawa, Tokyo 190-0014 Access: About 8 minutes walk from the north exit of JR Tachikawa Station, 5 minutes walk from Tama Monorail Tachikawa Kita Station Direct access by airport limousine from Haneda Airport! ⚠Note: In order to emphasize the environment, we recommend bringing your own toothbrush🪥Please note that toothbrushes are not provided👀Non-disposable quality toothbrushes are provided by the hotel. Ginkgo viewing in Tokyo | A beautiful spot that you must not miss!
Showa Memorial National Government Park
Near Tachikawa Station in Tokyo, you can enjoy different beautiful scenery throughout the year. It is famous for its 300-meter-long golden Ginkgo Avenue. When the leaves fall, you can still see a large golden carpet, which makes a rustling sound when you step on it. It is the road leading to the "Nibishichi Forest".
On the way, there are few people, golden ginkgo trees, and a striking "Golden Land"
The "carpet" is no less beautiful than Ginkgo Avenue.

[Tokyo] If you want to go to an all-you-can-eat oyster restaurant, this is the place to go! 🩷
⌇ Tachikawa Oyster Basara
A restaurant that serves everything from oysters to rice.
It was the first time in my life that I could eat all-you-can-eat oysters!!!
I was surprised when the oysters came out.
They are rock oysters, so each one is big, plump, and really delicious.
The soup and steamed oysters were also delicious, but the fried oysters in particular were not heavy and were gone in an instant, and you could enjoy them with various sauces.
Above all, everyone at the restaurant was kind.
The terrace seats have a nice atmosphere, and the oysters and alcohol are irresistible for people who like alcohol 🤤

[Tokyo] Lumine Tachikawa - Panda cut-out Baumkuchen
I went to the first floor of Lumine Tachikawa, which is directly connected to JR Tachikawa Station, to look for souvenir sweets.
There were many wonderful souvenirs, but the pandas at this limited-time Katanukiya shop were so cute that I bought two boxes, one for myself and one for souvenirs.
Baumkuchen that you eat while cutting out shapes.
Katanukiya has its main store in Ginza.
At the storefront, there were panda baums, Sanrio character baums, panda sables, and panda goods.
I ate it while removing the edges.
The baumkuchen tasted very good.

Indian curry "SWAGAT" on the basement floor of Isetan Tachikawa
2-5-1 Akebono-cho, Tachikawa, Tokyo
Basement floor of Isetan, in front of the north exit of Tachikawa Station
I found a curry bento from a delicious-looking Indian curry restaurant on the basement deli floor of Isetan Tachikawa, so I ate it in the eat-in corner. There are not many restaurants with eat-in corners on the basement floor, but this restaurant has four seats and has a daily menu that you can eat there. The curry bento was authentic Indian curry for 864 yen, and it was not too spicy and was delicious.
