When we were walking on the street, several children ran over to greet us warmly. Their smiles and laughter made us feel the deep friendliness of the locals. They even invited us to their home and made us feel like family. I also prepared some clothes for them. When I saw them smiling after receiving the gifts, their hearts were filled with warmth. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Yangon, Myanmar for the first time. I had always heard stories about Yangon and the beauty of the Shwedagon Pagoda since I was a child and always wondered if I would ever get the chance to visit. Finally, I made it there after finding an affordable flight ticket on trip.com. I decided to invite a friend to join me, and thus, this trip was born. Upon arrival, we headed straight to the Kyauktan Ye Le Pagoda to pay respects to the Buddha Upagupta outside the city. We then returned to the city to visit the Botataung Pagoda, where we paid respects to the Buddha's hair relic and prayed to the Nat spirit for our wishes to come true. As night fell, we visited the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, located on a hill in the heart of Yangon. The pagoda is visible from afar and is as beautiful as the legends say. Although some parts were under renovation, the golden pagoda illuminated by golden lights was still stunning. After visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda, we checked into the Zealax Hotel and Residence, a 5-star hotel booked through trip.com at a very affordable rate. The hotel was large, newly opened, and located in a safe area. The room was spacious and well-equipped, and the staff were very friendly. We even received an additional discount from trip.com, making it a great value. We had a restful night's sleep. The next day, we traveled outside the city to Bago to visit the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, the tallest pagoda in Myanmar at 100 meters, taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda. This demonstrated the grandeur and faith of the Myanmar people in constructing such large pagodas. We then visited the palace of Queen Suphayalat and paid respects to her statue, which is near the golden Kanbawzathadi Palace, a newly restored wooden palace. In the afternoon, we visited the Kyaikpun Pagoda, which features four Buddha images, before returning to the city to visit the Chaukhtatgyi Buddha, a reclining Buddha with beautiful eyes, and finally the Sule Pagoda, where we prayed to the Nat spirit. The golden pagoda illuminated by golden lights was beautiful from every angle. We then returned to the hotel to rest. The following day, we planned to visit the Bogyoke Aung San Market to buy souvenirs, but it was closed on Mondays. Instead, we went to Junction City Mall and had coffee at Rio Coffee & Brunch, a popular spot on Instagram. After relaxing and taking photos, we returned to the hotel. It rained lightly in the afternoon, so we rested comfortably at the hotel. On the last day, we traveled back to Thailand in the morning, arriving safely. This trip was very impressive, from the affordable flight tickets and 5-star hotel to visiting the places I wanted to see, including the Shwedagon Pagoda. Praying to the Buddha and the Nat spirit brought me great happiness and fulfillment. If my wishes come true, I hope to return to Yangon, Myanmar again. Amen!

1/ Return to the starting point Taking advantage of the visa-free SAR passport, no matter how busy you are, you still have to visit Myanmar. It turns out that the last time I visited Yangon was in early 2017. In nearly two years, the city has changed a lot. Although the air outside the window was still muggy, the road conditions as we drove downtown were much better than in previous years. Along the road, we saw high-rise buildings one after another, four- and five-star hotels, overpasses, and fewer pedestrians on the streets than in previous years. In the past, it was often necessary to rely on the crowds gathered together to guess where to get on and off the bus. Now many places have built bus stops, and the situation of casual boarding seems to be an end. I went to visit the B&B where I used to stay, and found that there was suddenly a quite large fitness center opposite. However, the Shangri-La Hotel next door is still the same as in previous years. Several theaters across the street are still there, but the ones next to the theaters have been replaced by commercial high-end buildings. The criss-crossed Aung San Market in the past is still there, but there is a newly built "New Aung San Market" opposite, and there is a large shopping mall "Junction City" next to it, which houses Genki Sushi, Ippudo, and Jade Ramen Xiaolong. Bao, for a moment I thought I was home. The most eye-catching thing about the Shwedagon Temple is that it remains as glorious as ever. It only has an elevator at the entrance and a passage dedicated to "Foreigners". In this way, I walked all the way from 33rd Street to 19th Street, walking through familiar streets one after another, and alleys with new clothes one after another. Suddenly I felt like an old man, chattering about the changes in this place while walking, but unable to keep up with the pace of the times. It's also like a lovelorn person, wandering in memories, reluctant to let go of the past. Memory and reality overlapped, and I discovered that there was only a small difference between "familiar" and "unfamiliar". After wandering around and around in the confusion, I finally couldn’t bear to find a roadside teahouse. sit. "Pawt Saint!" I said to the waiter. The waiter smiled shyly and handed me a cup of fragrant Burmese milk tea. After taking a sip, luckily the aroma of the milk tea is still there, and it can be regarded as a shared memory between me and this city.

The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is grand and beautiful. Taking photos at different times from evening to night offers varying beauty. Around the pagoda, there are many revered figures and sacred objects, such as the Buddha statue of Shin Saw Pu, the Nat spirit, the Giant Mother, Phra Sivali, and Phra Upagupta. Currently, it takes more than an hour to walk around, and even then, it's not enough to see everything. I plan to return to pay my respects again. The entrance fee is 20,000 kyats per person.

#temples Shwedagon Pagoda is located at the centre of Yangon City, Myanmar. As Shwe means "gold" in Burmese. I am not sure whether you can use a public transport or not to get here, but I recommend you to use online taxi instead called Grab and easy to access there. Also, you will need to use proper and polite way of dressing as this is kind of sacred place that you must obey the religion values. You will need to pay for the entrance fee as a tourist. In my case, there was a guy approaching me to guide me along my visit. He will inform you as much as he can about the history of this temples. At the end, you will be asked for a tips for him. If you don't mind, you can just continue, but if you feel you are bothered, you should probably ignore and reject him that you don't need his guidance. Anyway, he will also help for what you need for example take picture of you, so it is a win-win. There will be a lot of people coming to pray. And I suggest you to come here during evening time because the area is quite burning during the afternoon. The Pagoda is built of Gold from many countries around the world. Had a trip to Yangon with my family during Mother's Day and stayed at the Pan Pacific hotel. Accommodation Review: This hotel is adjacent to Junction City mall, making it very convenient for travel. It's not far from Sule Pagoda. The accommodation is excellent. The bathroom is large with a bathtub and a seating area for the elderly to shower comfortably. The wet and dry areas are separated, and the shower area is distinct from the toilet. The curtains in the room are automatic. Restaurant Review: The breakfast is a buffet with international cuisine, including Western, Indian, Chinese, and local dishes. There are also bread, salads, cakes, and fruit juices. Personally, I liked the congee, which comes with various toppings such as salted eggs, century eggs, spring onions, and more.
