#Get a discount without relying on luck. Wat Benchamabophit Dusit Wanaram is a first-class royal temple, a type of royal temple. There is no evidence of when it was built. It was originally called Wat Laem or Wat Sai Thong. Later, it was given a new name by King Rama IV as Wat Benchamabophit, which means the temple of the five royal family members who jointly renovated the temple. When King Rama V built Suan Dusit, he renovated the temple and named it Wat Benchamabophit Dusit Wanaram, which means the temple of King Rama V. Wat Benchamabophit Dusit Wanaram Ratchaworawihan was originally Wat Laem. After suppressing the rebellion of Chao Anuwong, Prince Phanomwan, along with his younger brothers and sisters, who shared the same mother, were: His Royal Highness Prince Pithak Deves (the founder of the Kunchorn family) His Royal Highness Prince Phuwanet Narinthra Rit (the founder of the Tingkorn family) Prince Inthanil Prince Wong inthon wished to jointly renovate Wat Laem and built 5 pagodas in front of the temple. Later, King Mongkut graciously bestowed a new name, Wat Benchamabophit, meaning the temple of 5 royals. In 1898, King Chulalongkorn graciously ordered the purchase of land between Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem and Khlong Samsen to build a private residence, which he named "Suan Dusit" (currently Dusit Palace). The land he purchased contained two ancient temples: Wat Dusit, which was in a state of disrepair and was used to build a pavilion, and another abandoned temple that needed to use the temple's land to make a road. Therefore, he performed a ritual to build a new temple to replace it according to tradition. He chose Wat Benchamabophit as the temple he established based on his royal idea that building many new temples would be difficult to maintain. If the money was pooled to build a single large temple and done with meticulous craftsmanship, it would be better. Therefore, His Royal Highness Prince Narisara Nuvadtivongse was appointed to design and construct the Ubosot and other permanent structures, with Phraya Ratchasongkhram (Korn Hongsakul) as the construction engineer. It was next to Wat Benchamabophit Secondary School. On March 1, 1898, King Chulalongkorn traveled to the temple. On this occasion, he issued a royal decree to offer the land as the temple's boundary and bestowed the new temple the name: Wat Benchamabophit, which means the temple of King Rama V and to show the order of the reigns in the Chakri Dynasty[4]. Later, His Majesty donated the land, which he named Dusitwanaram, to be an additional boundary marker for Wat Benchamabophit and ordered the collective name to be Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram. When the royal temples were organized during the reign of King Rama VI in 1915, Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram was classified as a first-class royal temple, a type of royal temple. Therefore, the temple’s name has the suffix “Ratchaworawihan” as it is today.
