Brighton, England. Many people visit the Seven Sisters in the morning and then head to Brighton for a day tour. While Brighton is known for its famous palace, I wasn't particularly interested in it, so I spent my time exploring Brighton's seaside. The Brighton beach isn't sandy but covered in pebbles. Because of this, walking barefoot can be quite painful. As expected, the water was cold. 😄 Still, I was surprised to see so many people enjoying the beach. Perhaps because the weather was nice, many were relaxing by the shore. Brighton is a charming and open-minded city, especially known for being LGBTQ+ friendly. As you walk through the streets, you'll often come across rainbows, symbolizing the city's inclusivity. The people here are open-minded and welcoming to different cultures. It was the only city where I never experienced any form of racial discrimination. While strolling, I randomly entered a tea shop and enjoyed tea with scones. Although tea is famous in England, I hadn't had any during my trip until I visited Brighton. The city was so delightful that I decided to join the crowd at a popular tea shop to try tea and scones. Interestingly, there's a unique culture in England regarding scones. People are divided into two camps: those who spread butter first and those who spread jam first. Personally, I found spreading butter first to be tastier. For those unfamiliar, you might wonder what difference it makes, but I was surprised to find that the order actually changes the taste of the scone! If your London trip feels long and monotonous, I highly recommend a day tour to Brighton for a refreshing experience.
