Perched high on a hill on the south bank of the Arno River, just across from the historic city center, it offers visitors a spectacular, panoramic vista of the entire city. Key Features The View: This is the square's main attraction. From its wide terrace, you can see almost all of Florence's iconic landmarks spread out below: The unmistakable dome of the Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore) by Brunelleschi.
