It is a mountain range located north of the city of Innsbruck. Nordkette is the southernmost of the four large mountain ranges in the Karwendel. Nordkette is adjacent to the Erlspitze Group Mountains to the west, the Gleirsch-Halltal Mountains to the east, and the Valley Inn to the south.
