Kyobaum

During my trip to Kyoto, one of the desserts I was most eager to try was 'Kyobaum.' The name itself is charming, and I had heard so much about how it embodies the essence of Kyoto, so my expectations were high. While strolling through the Gion district, I stumbled upon a store and immediately went in. The interior had a serene atmosphere with Kyoto's signature elegance, and there were samples available for tasting. 'Kyobaum' is a Baumkuchen dessert layered with matcha and soy milk. From the first bite, I was impressed by its chewy yet soft texture and the subtle aroma of matcha that felt truly luxurious. It wasn’t overly sweet, making it light and enjoyable, and the nutty flavor became more pronounced with each bite, ensuring it never felt tiresome. The packaging is also sophisticated, making it perfect for gifts. In fact, after trying it, I bought several more to give to friends. If you’re visiting Kyoto, I highly recommend stopping by.
