Hotel Vista Kanazawa: Superior Twin Room with a View Bath

For the second night of my 3-night, 4-day trip to Nagoya, I stayed in Kanazawa, the major city of the Hokuriku region. I found Hotel Vista Kanazawa, a relatively new hotel, offering the best price and decided to book it. Hotel Vista is a Japanese business hotel chain, and this was my third stay with them, following previous stays in Sendai and Nagoya. While they don't have a large number of locations, I’ve always found their value for money to be excellent. The hotel is located near the west exit of Kanazawa Station, which is on the opposite side of most tourist attractions concentrated around the east exit. However, it’s only about a 6-minute walk to the station, making it quite convenient. Famous spots like Kenrokuen Garden and Higashi Chaya District are not within walking distance from the station anyway, so you’ll need to take a bus. Being close to JR Kanazawa Station makes this location a reasonable choice. I stayed in a Superior Twin Room and checked in at 3 PM. I was assigned a room on the 10th floor. As soon as I opened the door, I felt a positive vibe. The room was located at a corner, which raised my expectations even before entering. Having stayed in nearly 400 hotels in Japan, I’ve developed a sense of what to expect just by the room’s location. As anticipated, the room had a slightly unique layout. To the left, there was a wardrobe, three doors, and a large dry sink area. Opening the first door revealed a spacious bathroom with a large window and a deep bathtub. The window could be opened, and there was ample space between the tub and the window, even enough to sit on the edge. There was also a blind for privacy. A business hotel with a view bath—what a surprise! According to the official website, only one Vista Twin Room in the hotel has a view bath. While my room wasn’t that specific one, it still felt special. The bathroom, toilet, and sink were perfectly separated into three areas, and the sliding doors allowed the bedroom to be divided from the other spaces, adding convenience. The tea table was spacious, and there was an air purifier in the room. The room was equipped with a UCC capsule coffee machine and local Kaga region hojicha tea. The bed size was generous, measuring 127 cm, somewhere between a super single and a semi-double. There were plenty of power outlets, and amenities were available for self-service on the first floor. However, there was no complimentary bottled water, and Kanazawa imposes an accommodation tax of 200 yen, payable at check-in. Bath salts were available for purchase at the reception, and you could also buy hojicha tea. The hotel also has a large public bath. For breakfast, they offer Ishikawa specialties along with signature dishes from other Vista Hotel locations, such as Fukuoka tonkotsu ramen and Nagoya tebasaki chicken wings. The Ishikawa-style curry, rich with beef, was particularly delicious. I had a great stay. Thank you!
