It is said to have been built to commemorate Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a great patriot and leader of the 1794 uprising. It was started on October 17, 1820, and it is said that young and old people, students, uprising veterans, tourists, and even foreigners who came to the city as tourists participated in this activity. The top of this site was completed in 1823 on the top of the hill of St. Bronisława in the western part of Krakow, and a granite stone was placed on top. Between 1930 and 1854, the Austrian authorities built a brick fort around the mound and began to use it as a strategic lookout. Then the neo-Gothic chapel of Blessed Bronisława was built. However, the Austrian fortifications, including the gateway and the south-western wall and penetrations, were eventually dismantled after World War II between 1945 and 1956. Right next to the hill is a museum dedicated to Kościuszko. The museum is said to exhibit relics and artifacts from his life and achievements. In 1997, Kopiec Kosciuszki Kosciuszko was eroded by heavy rain, and from 1999 to 2003, it underwent a restoration process using cutting-edge technology and modern materials, and the mound is now equipped with a drainage system and a new waterproof membrane. This place is much more beautiful when seen from a drone, etc., and when you climb to the top by foot and with your eyes, it is not easy to feel much excitement other than the view of Poland and Krakow.
