Pingxiang Wugong Mountain

Wugong Mountain Scenic Area is located in the central and western part of Jiangxi Province, at the junction of Pingxiang, Yichun, and Ji'an cities, in the northern section of the Luoxiao Mountains on the Hunan-Jiangxi border, with a total area of 183 square kilometers and a planned area of 385 square kilometers. The forest coverage rate is 83.35%. The main peak of Wugong Mountain, White Crane Peak (also known as Golden Top), has an altitude of 1918.3 meters. The scenic area on the Pingxiang side is called Wugong Mountain Scenic Area, the one on the Yichun side is called Mingyue Mountain Scenic Area, and the one on the Ji'an side is called Anfu Wugong Mountain. Pingxiang Wugong Mountain Scenic Area is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, a national scenic spot, a national forest park (about 260 square kilometers), a national geological park (about 378.3 square kilometers), a national natural heritage, one of China's top ten 'non-famous' mountains, won the gold award for 'Chinese College Students' Favorite Tourist Attraction' in 2009, and is recognized as China's Beautiful Countryside among other honors. In 2013, photos of the Pingxiang Wugong Mountain International Tent Festival were featured in the American 'Time' magazine. On January 7, 2020, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism designated the Wugong Mountain Scenic Area in Pingxiang City as a national 5A-level tourist attraction.
