Bé Island, Lý Sơn If you don’t go to the beach in Lý Sơn during the summer, you’ll definitely regret it. But if you go to Lý Sơn and don’t visit Bé Island, you’ll regret it 10 times more — even 100 times! Oh my gosh, the sea water is crystal clear, reflecting a surreal jade green color. My first thought when stepping into the water was: how can it look exactly like those tropical paradise spots in movies or on travel shows? So being there in person truly feels like a dream. Bé Island is about a 15-minute canoe ride from Lý Sơn Main Island. I bought a round-trip ticket for 140,000 VND and went straight to the port. Thankfully, the sea was calm, no big waves or seasickness — just a little hot and stuffy. But once you set foot on the island, all worries disappear. People call it “Bé Island,” but it’s probably because it’s less than 1 km² — just a few steps and you’ve walked across the island. You can rent a scooter or electric bike to get to Bãi Ngang beach and dive straight into the crystal-clear water. To swim, I think this beach is the most suitable. It has full services: life jacket rental, snorkeling gear, showers, and even paddleboard rentals. It’s especially beautiful at sunset, so try to schedule your visit accordingly. Just be sure not to fall asleep sunbathing and get sunburned 😆. After swimming, don’t forget to enjoy a cool coconut on shore. Once you’ve been to Lý Sơn, this will be the first name that pops into your mind.
