Let's go cloud-watching at Malabang Mountain!

Malabang Mountain, located in Dahu Township, Miaoli County, is considered a sacred mountain by the local Atayal indigenous people. It is also one of Taiwan's renowned spots for viewing maple leaves. Every year during late autumn and early winter, the mountain is adorned with vibrant red maple leaves, attracting numerous hikers who come to admire its beauty. In fact, Malabang Mountain is also known as the home of sea clouds. However, due to global warming and unpredictable weather patterns, catching the perfect view of maple leaves or cloud waterfalls often depends on luck or repeated visits. Although the maple leaves this time weren't as colorful and dazzling as a kaleidoscope, I was fortunate enough to witness a spectacular outbreak of sea clouds. It was the most magnificent cloud waterfall I've ever seen, making the trip truly worthwhile. This experience deeply reminded me of the beauty of time, which lies in its inevitable passage. Whether it's admiring maple leaves or sea clouds, it's best to approach it with a calm heart and appreciate the gifts from nature.
