Last Winter's Midosuji Illumination in Osaka

The Midosuji Illumination, often considered a highlight of Osaka travel, was truly impressive. Although I had seen it in photos before, experiencing it in person was far beyond my expectations. The scale was much larger, and the romantic atmosphere left a lasting impression. Midosuji is a major avenue in Osaka, stretching about 4 kilometers from Umeda to Namba. The entire stretch of roadside trees is adorned with LED lights. The colors vary by section, featuring soft champagne gold, pastel tones, blue, and purple hues, creating a constantly changing ambiance as you walk along. This dynamic atmosphere was the most captivating aspect. Since it wasn’t the Christmas season, even on the weekend, the area didn’t feel overcrowded. Particularly in the Shinsaibashi to Dotonbori section, there were many tourists, making it lively rather than overwhelming. The bustling energy added to the charm.
