Unmissable Nordic Library: Oslo Public Library

All along, when visiting a city, my favorite places to go are the local market and the local library. The former showcases the local cuisine, while the latter embodies the cultural atmosphere of books, especially the library, which can demonstrate a city's degree of emphasis on culture and knowledge. I particularly like a city that designs and maintains its library with care, including the city I just visited: Oslo, and its municipal library. 📕This library is the newest in Oslo, located next to the Oslo Theater and just a five-minute walk from Oslo Central Station. The library is divided into five floors above ground and two floors below ground, with many small compartments and interesting spaces, such as spaces that I have never seen in other libraries before, where 3D printers, sewing machines, professional audio-visual screens and other equipment can be used, as well as exhibition spaces arranged for local artists. 🗄️Inside, there are also small exhibition areas about Norway and Norwegian cultural history. The exhibits in those areas are available for ordinary people to touch and feel, which is rare in museums. If you take the time to explore, you can discover many interesting spaces. Of course, because its main function is a library, you can find a lot of information here, and you can also come here to study or take a break. The upper floors of the library have many Nordic-designed chairs, which are not only beautiful but also comfortable. Choose a book and sit on it, and when you get tired, look out the window at the Oslo cityscape. It's a particularly pleasant thing. 📍The library is called Deichman Bjørvika. You can locate it through map software. The iconic rotor exterior wall is also easy to recognize. It's worth spending three hours to really appreciate it.
