Methoni Castle, Messinia

#summervacay Methoni Castle feels like something from Game of Thrones. It juts out into the sea, connected to the mainland by a stone bridge, and surrounded by crashing waves. I walked through massive gates, explored old towers, and stood in the shade of a Venetian fortress built centuries ago. There’s barely anyone around, so it feels personal and immersive. After exploring, I had fresh grilled sardines at a beach taverna nearby. History, nature, and good food—my favorite trio.
