Wild Desert at Shuishang Yardang

#chinatravel Visited Shuishang Yardang in Qinghai recently, and wow, this place is straight-up otherworldly. Imagine giant rock formations that look like they’re from another planet, but here you are, in the middle of a desert! The Yardang landscape is all about crazy shapes carved by wind and water over thousands of years, and the “Shuishang” part means “on the water,” because these formations actually rise out of shallow lakes. Super cool. Walking around feels like exploring a natural sculpture park, every rock looks like it has its own personality. The colors change depending on the light, and when the sun sets, it’s pure magic. It’s kinda quiet and remote, so it feels like your own secret desert adventure.
