We arrived in the late afternoon, just in time to enjoy the golden hour before heading to Barelang Seafood Restaurant—one of the island’s largest and most popular seafood spots—for a delicious dinner. This 642-meter-long cable-stayed bridge connects Batam Island to Tonton Island and is the longest and most recognizable of the six bridges that make up the Barelang chain. Its sweeping, elegant design is often compared to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding sea and islands. As you stroll or drive across the bridge, you'll find local vendors selling treats like grilled corn and fresh coconut water—a perfect way to cool down while soaking in the picturesque scenery.
