My recent stay at the Shanghai OPARTMENT Far East Hotel was full of delightful surprises! Tucked away in the Jing'an District, this boutique hotel may not flaunt its presence, but it holds many hidden charms. The hotel retains the nostalgic charm of old Shanghai, with its red brick exterior paired with modern design. The vintage posters and old-fashioned chandeliers in the hallways transport you back in time. Though the rooms are compact, they are well-equipped, featuring wooden furniture and smart devices. The bed is so soft it feels like sinking into a cloud. The highlight, however, is the rooftop terrace, offering breathtaking views of the dazzling Jing'an Temple business district at night—an utterly romantic experience. Located just a 5-minute walk from Jing'an Temple and Jiuguang Department Store, the hotel boasts an excellent location. While the breakfast is simple, the quality of the freshly made Eggs Benedict and hand-brewed coffee is impressive.
