#summervacay Exploring Phitsanulok and Sukhothai is like stepping into a history book, but in the most relaxed, un-touristy way. Both are in the lower part of Northern Thailand, and they're packed with old-school charm, epic temples, and chill small-town vibes. In Phitsanulok (Phitsanulok Province), Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat is a total stunner, super detailed, super golden, and home to one of Thailand’s most respected Buddha images. The town itself is super lowkey, but has that local, friendly feel. Then there’s Sukhothai (Sukhothai Province), the real MVP if you’re into ancient ruins. The historical park is massive, rent a bike and cruise around temple ruins from Thailand’s first capital. Giant Buddhas, crumbling chedis, lotus ponds… it’s peaceful and seriously photogenic. It’s not flashy, but if you like slow travel, a bit of history, and wandering through quiet, beautiful places, these two spots are such a vibe. Culture fix? Totally sorted.
