Tottori Castle Ruins (Bring a bear bell for hiking)

The Tottori Castle Ruins are located in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. From JR Tottori Station, it takes about a 25-minute walk to reach the entrance of Kyusho Park (Tottori Castle Ruins), or you can take the Hinomaru Bus (100-yen loop bus) and get off at the "Jinpu-kaku/Tottori Castle Ruins" stop after about 10 minutes. The hiking trail is divided into two sections: 1. Lower Castle Area (Main Keep and Jinpu-kaku surroundings): This area has many stone steps and can be reached in about 5–10 minutes. 2. Upper Castle Area (Climbing to the top of Mount Kyusho): This requires a hike of about 40–50 minutes, with stone steps and mountain paths along the way. If you plan to visit the Upper Castle Area, it is recommended to bring a bear bell or hike with a group! During my hike, I didn’t encounter other tourists, but I did see signs warning of bear sightings and even came across wild boars.
