| Real Stay Feedback from Ordinary Travelers. Last weekend, I discovered a very down-to-earth hotel in Xichang city, located in a residential area on Sanchakou East Road. As an ordinary traveler, I stayed for two nights. Here are my actual feelings: Living Experience Ramblings The room was more spacious than I expected, and I especially liked the small balcony. In the morning, I could see dried radish on the roof of the building opposite, and in the evening, I could sit in the wicker chair and hear the hawkers downstairs packing up. The mattress was of medium firmness (I later saw the label and realized it was a well-known brand), and I, who am usually a light sleeper, actually slept through the night. Surrounding Exploration Diary Leaving from the back door of the hotel and walking for ten minutes along the old street lined with plane trees, you will come across a steaming soy milk and fried dough stick stall. I tested walking to the north gate of Qionghai Wetland, which took about 25 minutes. Along the way, you can also pass by a local farmers market. The biggest surprise was the unnamed noodle restaurant down two alleys, where the owner's homemade pickled radish was especially refreshing. Practical Facilities Tested I used all three dryers in the laundry room, and a cotton coat can be dried in two hours. Although the gym is not big, I could still use the treadmill when I went at 10pm. I noticed that there were direct drinking fountains on each floor, and I met several mothers making milk powder for their children while getting water. Heartwarming Little Details The warm towel handed by the front desk upon check-in was very timely (it happened to be a rainy day), and they helped pack the unfinished oranges when I checked out. The book corner in the lobby was interesting. I found two copies of "Chinese National Geography" from 2017, which made me sit and read for half an hour. Personal Summary: The non-slip mat in the shower room is a bit old, so it is recommended to bring your own slippers. The local hand-painted map in the elevator is more intuitive than mobile phone navigation. The sound insulation is average, so if you are sensitive to noise, it is recommended to ask for a room facing away from the street. The Americano from the coffee machine in the lobby is a bit weak, suitable for people who don't drink coffee often. One of the socks I hung on the balcony was blown away by the wind, and the cleaning lady helped me find it in the flower bed. Overall, this place doesn't have the aloofness of a luxury hotel, but rather feels like a well-equipped staff dormitory. It is suitable for ordinary travelers like me who spend the day walking around and just want to rest quietly at night. If I had to pick a flaw, it would probably be the constant smell of the neighboring beef noodle takeout in the hallway.
