A beautiful ancestral hall hidden in a village in Shanxi

Liubao Jia Ancestral Hall was built in the late Qing dynasty and the Republic of China. It was carefully restored in 1935 under the leadership of Jia Jiying, a business tycoon. Inside the ancestral hall, there are elements of "dragons" and "phoenixes" everywhere. These patterns are not only gorgeous and delicate, but also reveal a solemn and elegant royal architectural decoration, which shows the extraordinary status of the owner. The exquisite brick carvings, wood carvings, and paintings in the courtyard are amazing. The exhortation murals and cautionary tales on the west side of the wing rooms on both sides of the ancestral hall, as well as the stone-carved family motto on the east side, are mostly well preserved. Jia Jiying, a famous modern financier, has a legendary life that is admirable. As the founder of the bank in Chinese history and the first president of the Bank of Qing Dynasty, his outstanding contributions and far-reaching influence in the financial field are still talked about today. The saying "A king will rise every 500 years, but there is no Jia Jiying in a thousand years!" is a vivid portrayal of his high praise. From October 2015 to October 2016, Liubao Jia Ancestral Hall was once again fully and meticulously restored.
