Moreno Glacier scenery and experience check-in
#雪scape
4 hours of ultra-steep mountain roads and 3 hours of ice hiking, the whole trip is really adrenaline-inducing! Although there are challenges in the process, it is this extreme experience that makes me feel super accomplished. It feels great to challenge yourself and push your limits. This is the true meaning of travel!
I booked Big Ice on the official website two months in advance. At that time, many posts said that Mini Trekking was already very good, but I thought to myself, since I have come here, of course I have to choose a more challenging one, so I was decisive. I chose Big Ice! Looking back now, this decision was really wise, because this adventure allowed me to see the most spectacular glacier scenery and enjoy the thrill of conquering nature.
At the beginning of the trip, the travel agency picked us up from the hotel on time. About an hour later, we arrived at the entrance of Moreno Glacier. Tourists need to get off the car and buy tickets by themselves. After entering the park, we drove for about 45 minutes. The scenery along the way was so beautiful that I couldn't wait. After arriving at the glacier, the team leader gave us some time to go to the observation deck to enjoy the panoramic view of the glacier. The scenery was really spectacular. Among several routes, I chose the yellow line recommended by the team leader, which had an excellent view.
Next is the highlight of this adventure – glacier hiking! We took a 10-minute boat ride to land and started hiking! First, we walked a section of the trail to the gear point, put on our hats and chains, and prepared for the upcoming challenge. It was a three-hour hike in the mountains. Although some cliff sections were extremely dangerous, the scenery before me made me feel extremely satisfied every step I took. Especially when the Patagonia wind roared by, not only was I not blown over, but I felt like an explorer, enjoying the power and challenge of nature.
After arriving at the glacier, we put on crampons and started hiking on the ice. The moment I stepped on the ice, I seemed to have entered another world. The ice-blue light and shadow were fascinating. Although we did not find the blue hole that day, the whole process still made me hooked and felt like I was one with nature.
The return journey was still the same as the original route, but at this time I no longer felt tired. Instead, I felt that this challenge had completely awakened my adventurous spirit. Finally, we each got a glass of glacier ice➕whiskey on the boat. This glass of whiskey from the glacier was simply the perfect ending.
Since Big Ice has an age limit (under 55 years old is required to participate), it is recommended to sign up for Mini Trekking if you are older. The older people came back and showed me photos, saying that the trip was relaxing and enjoyable. I have no regrets about choosing Big Ice, because this adventure really impressed me and will be unforgettable for a lifetime.
This glacier hike is undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable experiences in my travels. This kind of adventure to challenge myself and feel the power of nature is definitely worth a try! I believe that no matter who comes to experience it, they will fall in love with this close contact with nature just like me!
