The Most Tranquil Countryside Hotel in Ubud
Finally fulfilled my wish to stay at Alam Jiwa this time! The hotel is located at Jalan Nyuh Gading, Nyuh Kuning Rd in Ubud, Indonesia, just a 10-minute drive from the central area of Ubud. Don't worry—the hotel thoughtfully provides a complimentary shuttle service, but remember to arrange your own transportation after 9:30 PM. Not only is it conveniently located, but it also lets you escape the hustle and bustle, immersing you in Ubud's serenity and beauty.
Alam Jiwa boasts an unbeatable location, surrounded by rice fields and adorned with unique Balinese-style decor. The hotel's design is infused with rich Balinese elements, featuring intricately carved wooden doors and traditional furniture at every turn. Here, you’ll always find a sense of peace. As for amenities, their stunning swimming pool is a highlight, offering a relaxing view of the picturesque countryside. The front desk staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, providing detailed check-in guidance that makes you feel right at home.
For the room experience, the Ganesa room at Alam Jiwa is especially worth recommending. The spacious room allows you to unwind completely, and the bathroom is equally impressive, offering both a shower and a bathtub, plus a charming view overlooking the fields. The room is spotlessly clean, lifting your spirits instantly. The best part? Breakfast can be served right on your balcony, letting you savor delicious food while admiring the breathtaking scenery outside—it feels like time stands still.
A must-visit nearby is the Sacred Monkey Forest, just a short walk from the hotel, though it’s best to avoid the monkeys' busiest main street. Local restaurants like Laku Leke left a deep impression on me, especially their "dirty duck" dish—each visit makes me fall a little more in love with Bali. Don’t miss out on a local cooking class, such as the one at Bali Keto Cooking School, which is highly recommended. Strolling through the nearby villages, you’ll always stumble upon new discoveries.
Of course, nothing is perfect, and Alam Jiwa has a minor flaw: the pool area is a bit dimly lit at night, so brighter lighting for evening swims would be ideal. Still, this small issue doesn’t detract from the overall joy of the stay.
In short, this "hidden gem in the rice fields" made my trip truly worthwhile. Alam Jiwa is a serene paradise that leaves you longing to return—and I definitely will next time I get the chance. 🌺💫
