2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣Slow Tour of Kaohsiung, Taiwan for 4 days and 3 nights DAY3️⃣ One-day tour in Cijin About 6 minutes’ walk from Hamashing Station, we arrived at Gushan Ferry Station and took the ferry to Cijin Ferry Station. The journey only took 5 to 10 minutes and the ticket price was NT$30. After arriving, we rented a four-person electric bicycle for sightseeing. ➡️Attractions: Windmill Park Our first stop was to the farthest "Windmill Park". We lost the bicycle path after walking down the road and had to walk out onto the road. Several cars got lost along the way and it took us a while to finally get into the Windmill Park. 🙈 ➡️Attractions: Sea Pearl Sea Pearl is a peculiarly shaped building with various ocean-related displays to help you better understand the charm of the ocean. ➡️Attractions: Rainbow Church The Rainbow Church is a very unique building with a colorful exterior that gives people a full fairy-tale feel. We ordered a cup of ice cream and chose the three-color ball so that we can try more flavors. Cijin (旗津), a small island just a short ferry ride from Kaohsiung. This exotic destination, filled with the scent of the sea, had me most excited about visiting Cijin Beach! The long stretch of sandy shore and the distant waves rolling in were the epitome of relaxation 🌊 That day, the wind was quite strong, so swimming wasn’t an option. Instead, I let the wind tousle my hair and found peace in the sound of the waves. Walking barefoot on the sand, feeling the cool touch beneath my feet, and gazing at the sea in quiet contemplation was truly a wonderful experience. Right next to the beach, there’s a well-maintained bike path and walking trail, making it perfect for a seaside stroll. Along the path, you’ll find shops selling ice cream, fried snacks, and local treats, adding a touch of fun to the visit. Once you arrive, you'll find numerous seafood restaurants and street vendors offering delicious food. Among the dishes, the fried crab left the strongest impression on me. To explore Cijin Island, renting an electric bike is essential. There are many bike rental shops near the entrance of the island where you can rent an electric bike at an affordable price by leaving your ID as a deposit. I rented a four-person bike with my family to tour the island. Without a bike, exploring the island would be physically challenging due to its size. The beach on Cijin Island is unique with its black sand, which contrasts beautifully with the blue sea, making it a perfect spot for photography. The natural color contrast is so striking that it feels like the photos are automatically enhanced without any editing. Being in a tropical region, Cijin Island is filled with palm trees. Many visitors take photos with the palm trees as a backdrop, and I joined in as well. The island has numerous photo spots, including the Rainbow Church, which is very popular. However, due to the long waiting times, I decided to skip taking photos there. At the end of Cijin Island, there's a small park where I enjoyed some sweet ice cream. The gentle breeze and spinning pinwheels made it a relaxing spot to unwind. For me, Cijin Island was the most enjoyable place in Kaohsiung. On the way back to the hotel, I stopped by the Railway Cultural Park. It's a vast park with only trains on display, which made it quite memorable. I think it's a great place for families with children, as kids would likely find it fascinating.

Last June, I spent ten days on a small round-island trip in Taiwan. There are actually many beautiful photos that I’ve kept hidden and haven’t properly shared! Among the numerous attractions in Kaohsiung, the one that left the deepest impression on me was Cijin Beach. Located on a small island outside of Kaohsiung, it’s far from the city center. Visitors can reach it by taking a ferry from the Yancheng District. On that day, we drove there instead, which required passing through the Cross-Harbor Tunnel and was less convenient than taking the ferry. Honestly, there weren’t any special activities there, but I remember spending nearly two hours just watching the spectacular sunset from the breakwater. It wasn’t that we didn’t want to go for dinner, but the sunset was so breathtaking every second that we simply couldn’t leave! Sitting on the breakwater, daydreaming, chatting, and watching the sunset is truly one of life’s greatest pleasures. In the south, when the children suddenly want to go to the beach, we actually like to bring them to Cijin Beach, which is not too far from home. From what I have observed, it is a beach with a relatively clean environment, clear water, and soft sand, where children are less likely to get hurt. The sunset here in the evening is also very charming, suitable for the whole family to take a walk together. The beach is located in Cijin District, Kaohsiung City, close to Cijin Coast Park. It is one of the most famous summer resorts in Kaohsiung. The bathing beach is equipped with complete life-saving facilities, flushing equipment, changing rooms and toilets. Don’t worry if your children are covered in sand every time they play. There are plenty of washing equipment near the parking lot, so you can clean up most of it before going home. If you don't plan to go to the beach, there are also bicycle trails here, and there are a variety of bicycles, tandem bikes, quad bikes and electric bikes available for rent, which are suitable for riding along the coast and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I was able to take some beautiful photos at Formosa Boulevard Station, which is just one stop away from Kaohsiung Station on the MRT. In Hamasen, you can enjoy relaxing art on the wide grassy field. There seems to be a railway museum, so there are many ways to enjoy it. It is easily accessible by LRT. Cijin can be reached by ferry from Xizihwan. You can take the ferry with an EasyCard. I went there on a weekend morning. There is a quiet beach after passing through the food stalls. The food stalls were crowded after noon, so I recommend going in the morning. Xiziwan is also home to the British Consulate at Takao, and after returning from Cijin, I had afternoon tea at the consulate. #JapanFlightEvent I went to Cijin Island, which is about a 5-minute ferry ride away. It's a close island to the city, so many Taiwanese people come here~ Most people rent electric bicycles or scooters on Cijin Island, but I rented a 4-person bicycle with my parents and went on a light tour for 2 hours! It was very windy and chilly around sunset, so if you visit, be sure to bring a thin coat!
