Senchan Shokudo, located at the Kushiro Fishing Port in Hokkaido, was originally a cafeteria for maritime workers but is now open to the public. I tried riding the Steam Locomotive Winter Wetlands, which is operated by JR Hokkaido only in winter. This time, the route was from Shibecha to Kushiro. On this route, the train runs in the opposite direction. This makes it look a bit awkward, but it's comfortable. I was able to ride in the Tancho Car, which was recently renovated. This car has a counter and you can see the marshland from the large window. The other cars are basically box seats, so this is a special seat that is only available in this car. Some cars have coal stoves and toilets, so I was able to spend a comfortable time.
