During our stay in Mauritius, we booked a boat excursion with Karlos Excursions, a local company highly recommended by other travellers - and they truly delivered an amazing experience! #holidayvacation #familytrip 🏨 The day began with a smooth pickup right from LUX Le Morne Hotel, where their friendly crew welcomed us aboard and set the tone for a perfect day at sea. 🐬 Our first stop was just offshore to spot dolphins in their natural habitat. It was magical to see them swimming freely and the crew was respectful in keeping a safe distance. 🤿 Next, we headed to a nearby coral area for some snorkeling. The water was crystal clear, and we saw plenty of colorful fish and healthy coral formations. If you love the ocean, this part is a must—Mauritius truly has some of the best snorkeling spots I've experienced. 🔥 The highlight of the day was definitely the barbecue lunch near Crystal Rock. This famous volcanic rock formation rises dramatically from the sea, and we anchored nearby for a break. The crew prepared a delicious local-style barbecue right on the boat with fresh seafood, chicken, and even grilled pineapple. Eating with a view of Le Morne Brabant in the background was just incredible. 🏝 This area is not only stunning - it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stands as a symbol of freedom, as it was once a refuge for runaway slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries. Being surrounded by such natural beauty with such powerful history made the whole experience even more meaningful. ✍🏼 Travel Tips: - Book with a local company: It supports the local community and offers a more authentic experience. - Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a towel—there's a lot of sun and water! - Crystal Rock is popular, so going early helps avoid the crowds. - Don’t forget your camera—this is the kind of day you’ll want to remember. 🌊 A perfect mix of nature, culture, and adventure - this was one of the highlights of our time in Mauritius. Crystal Rock is a small reef off the coast of Black River Bay in southwestern Mauritius, and is a popular spot for tourists due to its beautiful surrounding sea. This reef was formed by the uplift of coral underwater, and is also known as a "waterfall in the sea" due to its unique shape! It is especially clear at low tide, and combined with the surrounding seawater flow, it creates a waterfall-like scene.  The area around Crystal Rock is known as a great spot for snorkeling and diving! ⚠️Please check if the tour will lend you fins! I didn't get fins on my tour! It is home to a wealth of marine life, and you can observe colorful tropical fish and coral reefs up close. 🤿 Crystal Rock is commonly accessed by tours using catamarans and speedboats.
