I have always wanted to visit Dayu Mausoleum. My previous trips to Shaoxing were all very rushed, so this time I stayed for two more days and finally got my wish. I chose a weekday to go there. As soon as you enter the door, you will feel the grandeur of the stone pillars. They are upright and tall, and the carvings on them are also meticulously detailed. The road leading in is very long, and there are beautiful scenery all along the way, and any photo you take will turn out great. The scenic area is also very large, so it is best to wear a pair of comfortable shoes. Because I wanted to take photos, plus the total time of the visit was almost four hours, I only visited less than half of the area, and I didn’t sit down in the middle. I basically kept walking. Later, I felt I couldn’t walk anymore, so I didn’t climb up the mountain to see the statue of Dayu. I had to leave early and go back next time. If you are interested in history, it is best to know some background knowledge beforehand to help you visit. If you like to see the scenery, it is worth a visit and you will not waste the ticket. In addition, there are relatively few food options in the scenic area, and there are only a few scattered stalls. I didn't have much expectation for this attraction, it was included in the combo ticket, so I just came to have a look, but it turned out to be the most stunning! Highly recommended! The mausoleum is very large, the bronze statue on the mountain is majestic and impressive! There are more than 970 steps to climb the mountain, which is a bit challenging, but there are signs every 50 steps, which are very detailed, making for a great experience. Highly recommend going up the mountain to take a look, it's definitely worth the trip.
