Pain, Glory & Sky-High Feels at Daecheongbong
#summervacay Seoraksan’s Daecheongbong Peak (1708m) is not messing around. We knew it’d be a long hike, but wow, this one tests you. We started early from the Chuncheon side, and the first part was pretty chill, nice forest trails, birds chirping, good vibes. But then it starts climbing. And climbing. And doesn’t stop.
It’s a full-body workout, with stairs, rocks, and endless switchbacks. But the higher you go, the cooler it gets, literally and scenery-wise. The mountain just keeps opening up, and by the time you hit the ridgeline, you're walking above the clouds. Straight-up magical.
Hitting the top of Daecheongbong feels like a moment. Wind in your face, 360° views, legs completely done, but your brain is like, YES. We chilled at the summit, shared snacks with some friendly hikers, and took a million pics.
This hike is tough, no doubt, but if you’re up for the challenge, the payoff is unreal. Just prep well, start early, and embrace the burn. Worth every step.
