[25.04.02] 🌸 My first time viewing cherry blossoms in Korea 🌸. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations since cherry blossom viewing is often a matter of luck—it’s so hard to predict the exact day they’ll be in full bloom! But on the second day, I woke up early and took a nearly two-hour KTX ride to Daegu. I casually strolled to a riverside park, and wow! The people here are so lucky to see cherry blossoms every day! I guess I don’t dislike walking; I just haven’t had such beautiful scenery to enjoy while doing it! Otherwise, I’d walk to work every day and take a stroll during lunch breaks too. :) I’m starting to miss the cherry blossoms in Korea, haha 😆

Both air tickets and accommodation are very cheap, you can go there on a weekend. Highly recommend the night view, it is beautiful~~

In early April, I arrived in Daegu on a red-eye flight. At ten o'clock in the evening with a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius, the streets of Daegu were sparsely populated. It took about 30 minutes to walk from the restaurant back to the hotel where we were staying. On a cold night, I passed several churches on the road. The moment I looked up, a warm call stood before my eyes, making me feel a sense of peace and warmth in my heart. #NewYear2025

Daegu Jeil Church is the oldest Protestant Church in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. Initially established in 1898 over four tile-roofed houses, Daegu Jeil Church was rebuilt in 1933 with traditional and Western architectural designs. Subsequently, Deacon Lee Ju-Yeol dedicated a 33m bell tower in 1937, whlie the church underwent an interior renovation in 1969, and an expansion in 1981. In conjuction with its physical development, which was at the forefront of the nation's architectural modernization, the church contributed largely to modernization and expansion of Christianity in the region as well as in Korea. In addition, by introducing modern medicine and education to the citizens of Daegu, the founders of Daegu Jeil Church stimulated social development in the region.

There are many unique and beautiful churches in the center of Daegu. Among them, the First Church is the first Christian church in North Gyeongsang Province and the oldest church in Daegu! The first floor of the First Church has been converted into a history museum, which displays the original appearance of the church and many historical relics from the past. It is of great historical and cultural significance! (There is only an introduction in Korean~~ but the cultural relics on display are also suitable for visiting) In addition, the New First Church is also nearby. It is a white building and is also very beautiful. If you have the chance, you can go there (but I didn’t make it this time because I didn’t have the time). In addition, near the First Church (unfortunately it is not reachable) there is also the Daegu Gyesan-dong Cathedral, which is mainly Romanesque architecture, and you can see the sign reflected in the sky! It's very obvious from a distance. The landmark is easy to find and very beautiful! However, there is still a mass going on here, so it is usually not open to the public! It's a photo zone in Cheongna Hill that's perfect for a spring flower trip. The combination of Jeil Church's and Cheongna Hill's unique architectural styles + the white popcorn-like magnolias is really great. This is Daegu Jeil Church, which many people visit when traveling to Daegu! The interior is made of gorgeous stained glass, and please note that photography is not allowed in the front part of the church interior. In particular, you are not allowed to bring food into the restaurant when entering.
