#uktrip We’d heard good reviews about the Roman Baths in Bath, so we decided it was high time to visit. Armed with our pre-booked tickets and an early morning plan, we managed to dodge the hordes of tourists. Upon entering, it felt like we’d stepped right into ancient Rome, minus the toga-wearing citizens. To our delight, there was far more to explore than we’d anticipated. Who knew baths could be so captivating? The audio guides were our trusty companions, regaling us with stories and facts far beyond what any toga-clad guide could muster. The staff were as friendly as they were informative, adding a lovely touch of modern hospitality to our historical escapade. Every corner of the site had something interesting to offer, and we soaked up (pun intended) every bit of it. In short, our visit was a splash of historical fun, and we left feeling like honorary Romans. If you find yourself passing through Bath, we highly recommend this unique experience. Just be sure to allocate a good two to three hours time tends to slip away when you’re having a splendid time in the first century.

On a day trip to Bath, I originally wanted to visit the Fashion Museum in the Assembly Rooms. The word "fashion" may be misleading. In fact, the museum exhibits ancient and modern British fashion clothing and accessories. The earliest exhibit is an object from the 1600s. The exhibition hall was originally a social venue for gentlemen and ladies, with a ball room, tea room and card room. In the center is an octagonal atrium hall. It was built in 1771 and was destroyed during World War II. The existing building was restored later. Unfortunately, the Fashion Museum is relocating and the exhibition is suspended. I still wanted to visit the old site and happened to come across a free exhibition called Assemble in the Forest. The theme is about the relationship between man and nature. Walking into the exhibition, it is as if moving nature into an exquisite banquet hall. There is the fun of time and space transformation, different exhibition halls, sensory experience, and graphic descriptions. It is worth a look! On view until 14-July-2023. The world is difficult to understand! I wonder what the Assembly room will be used for in the future? I wonder what the Fashion Museum will look like after the relocation?
