The only hotel inside the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area, I would call it a divine escape experience
If you come to Lijiang just to see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, trust me, go straight to this one — Lijiang Jinmao Puxiu Snow Mountain Hotel! As the only hotel in the scenic area that directly faces the snow mountain, during my 3-day stay, I completely understood what it means to "make your home part of the scenery"~
✨Why do I say it’s a snow mountain treasure? These points make it legendary!
Top-tier views of the snow mountain while lying down
Built at 3,100 meters halfway up the mountain, every room has an extra-large balcony, and even the basic room type offers an unobstructed, face-to-face view of the snow mountain! Open the curtains in the morning, and the continuous snowy peaks come straight into your eyes. On good days, you can even catch the golden sunlight on the mountain (the mirrored platform and pool outside the yoga room are the best spots, with a 100% photo success rate📸).
A carefully curated escape time
Don’t worry about being bored on the mountain! Upon check-in, you’ll get an activity schedule packed from morning till night:
During the day, you can try Naxi tie-dye, traditional papermaking, scripture copying for meditation, or learn tea art/coffee roasting with the instructor.
Practice yoga under the snow mountain in the early morning, take a stroll to Ganhaizi to see cattle and horses in the evening (the hotel shuttle can take you there).
At night, head to the observatory for stargazing (although there’s slight light pollution, you can still see a sky full of stars with the naked eye, totally worth it!).
Service details so thoughtful it’s almost unfair
Since Yinshe Yijing took over last year, the service has truly warmed my heart~ The manager is hands-on, staff proactively help with luggage and remind you to add or remove clothes, oxygen tanks and humidifiers are ready in the rooms (a lifesaver for dry skin!), and even afternoon tea has reserved scenic seats—luxurious yet warm, this is exactly it!
Super convenient for exploring the snow mountain
Only 2 km from the visitor center, you can walk to Blue Moon Valley, and it’s also close to Spruce Meadow and Yak Meadow. But honestly, the hotel is so comfortable that I gave up taking the cable car up the mountain and just enjoyed lying in the room watching the snow mountain—doesn’t that sound better?
📍How to play around? Here’s a lazy 3-day 2-night itinerary
Within 1 hour around the hotel
Blue Moon Valley: The "Little Jiuzhaigou" at the foot of the snow mountain, with crystal-clear blue lakes, reachable by a 20-minute scenic shuttle (ticket 100 + shuttle 20)
Ganhaizi: A 10-minute hike, grassland with snow mountain backdrop, perfect for atmospheric photos
Yuhu Village: A stone ancient village, Pushi Coffee’s rooftop offers snow mountain views in the same frame (free, 1 hour to explore)
A bit farther but worth visiting
Baisha Ancient Town: Quieter than Lijiang Old Town, 7 Sea Bar and Yi Wa Tang are popular photo spots (free, 30 minutes is enough)
Tinghua Valley: Hobbit houses + alpacas, great for kids (ticket 80, fewer flowers in winter but the snow mountain backdrop is still healing)
⚠️Heartfelt minor flaws (please improve!)
The bathroom has no separate ventilation, sometimes you need to open the balcony door for air
Slight light pollution at night, making it a bit harder to photograph the Milky Way
No food delivery on the mountain, snacks and drinks are recommended to be bought in town (Jinmao Hyatt in the city can restock)
📝Practical Tips (must-read before staying!)
Booking: Available on Trip.com, prices over 3000 RMB including breakfast + afternoon tea + 2-person mountain entry permits (super cost-effective!)
Mountain entry: First get the free mountain entry permit at Jinmao Hyatt at the foot of the mountain, then go up
Dining: Must order yak meat hotpot for dinner (delicious and memorable), reserve scenic seats in the restaurant in advance
Gear: Bring moisturizing skincare (very dry!), thick outerwear (big temperature difference between morning and night)
Activities: Yoga classes and stargazing are recommended to book in advance, scripture copying and tie-dye are walk-in and play
After staying here, I truly feel this isn’t just a hotel stay; it’s like living a poetic life with the snow mountain as your scroll~
