Check out the filming location of "La La Land" in Los Angeles.
"La La Land" is a movie I like very much, and the main filming locations were in Los Angeles.
The Griffith Observatory I went to this time is one of the filming locations and is also a local Internet celebrity attraction. It is an excellent place to overlook Los Angeles and enjoy the California sunset.
✔️About transportation
If you are traveling by car, it is recommended to arrive earlier in the afternoon, because the later it gets, the more crowded it gets, and there are basically no parking spaces near the entrance, so you can only park at the foot of the mountain, which requires you to walk a long winding mountain road.
The good thing about taking a taxi or Uber is that the car can drive right to the main entrance.
⚠️But please note: the signal on the mountain is very poor!
I took an Uber there. When we entered the mountain, the driver told me that the signal here was very poor. He asked me if I had any signal. Sure enough, there was no signal at all.
The driver was very nice. He told us that the signal was only slightly better at the gate. If we took a taxi when we left, we should set the location at the gate and wait for the driver to pick us up there, so that it would be convenient for the driver to contact us. He said that once he came to pick someone up, but he couldn't contact the person because of the poor signal, and he was very frustrated.
There is also another bus that can be taken, and the stop is also at the gate.
✔️About tickets
🆓Free admission, if you want to watch the dome movie, you need to buy a separate ticket

1️⃣There is a shot of the main circular building of the observatory in the movie. You can see it by walking up the stairs on the right side of the outside of the observatory.
2️⃣The actual filming location of the most classic dancing scene in the movie was not here, but there is a place under the Griffith Observatory that is very similar to that one.
The real dancing location is called: Cathy's Corner
Just search this name on Google Map.
On the other side of the mountain, you need to go down the mountain and then up the mountain to get to the Griffith Observatory. I didn’t go there because it was quite far, which was a pity.
There is a path going down the mountain on the left side of the observatory. If you walk down for two minutes, you will reach an open area with a very good view. There is also a bench, which is very nice for enjoying the night view of the city. When I went there, there was a couple sitting on the bench, so I didn’t have the chance to sit on the bench to enjoy the night view.
3️⃣You can also see the Hollywood sign here, but it is quite far away. However, it is really beautiful at sunset.
There are many filming locations for "La La Land" in Los Angeles.
I hope I’ll have the opportunity to check in at other places in the future.
