Toyokuni Shrine in Osaka was established as a separate shrine of Toyokuni Shrine in Kyoto City in Osaka Castle (Osaka Castle Park). It mainly pays homage to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the hero of Japan's Warring States Period, who completed the great cause of unifying Japan in the 16th century and ended the war. After the fall of the Toyotomi family, the shrine was destroyed. The shrine was not rebuilt until the end of the 19th century AD. In the monastery, the ancient building "Tangmen" is preserved. "Tangmen" is a kind of door imitating Chinese architectural style. It represents the colorful "Taoshan Culture" at that time and has been listed as a national treasure. An iron lantern (iron lighting device) is also preserved in the temple. In the "Treasure Hall" on the north side of the temple, the Japanese painting "Toyokuni Matsuri Screen" by the Japanese painting genre "Kano School", which has become an important national cultural relic, and the relics used by Toyotomi Hideyoshi are displayed.
