Huacachina is an oasis village located in the middle of the desert near Ica in southern Peru. This small village, nestled within a vast sandy desert, boasts a unique landscape featuring a blue lake, palm trees, and tropical plants. Originally created as an artificial resort for the wealthy, Huacachina is now famous as a hotspot for desert activities. Popular attractions include buggy car tours and sandboarding, offering thrilling experiences like racing down or sliding on massive sand dunes with slopes as steep as 60 degrees. To get there, you’ll need to take a bus ride of about 4 hours from other parts of Peru, typically departing around 5 AM. The journey wasn’t boring, but it’s a good idea to pack some snacks for the bus ride. Legend: The name Huacachina means "beautiful woman" in the local language. According to a well-known legend, a beautiful Inca princess once lost her beloved prince and wept day and night in sorrow. Her tears formed a lake, and an oasis grew around it. This legend adds to the mystical charm of Huacachina Lake and gives the village its unique atmosphere. At the entrance to the oasis village, there are various shops where you can purchase traditional Peruvian food and souvenirs, which was a delightful experience. Sandboarding in the desert is truly an exhilarating adventure! :) On the way back, I was so exhausted that I slept soundly and arrived at the hotel around 9 PM.

Just a short ride from the desert city of Ica, Peru, in an old Tico taxi, you'll find the village of Huacachina. This oasis village is built right in the middle of the desert. You can ride a buggy and explore the desert like the protagonist of the movie Dune. You can also experience sliding down the highest sand dunes on a sandboard, which is incredibly fun. Huacachina Desert was the best desert I've ever visited, incomparable to any other desert! Highly recommended🍀

Located in southwestern Peru, this area is famous for its breathtaking views of the lake surrounded by magnificent sand dunes. You can enjoy many activities such as riding a quad bike on the dunes or desert safari, and traditional boat rides on the lake. You can also enjoy the breathtaking views of the sunset and the sunset in this unique area. Without a doubt, my visit was an unforgettable experience!
