The snow is beautiful, the sun is warm, and the key is that the cost performance is super high, the average cost is not much, but the experience is full! 📍Location: Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia 🚗Transportation: It takes only two hours to get there by high-speed train from Beijing, and only 40 minutes from Hohhot, which is very convenient! 🌍Itinerary: Day 1: Wulanhada Volcano - Laolihai Day 2: Huitengxile Grassland ✅Must-see attractions 🌋Wulanhada Volcano Geopark This place is free! #fallingforfall When travelling to Inner Mongolia, mostly people look forward to see the grassland or desert. We too, have it in mind. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see it instead we saw the snowland. 😅 We weren't expecting it since we left Beijing in Autumn so we thought it was Autumn too in Inner Mongolia. Well, in Chayouzongqi, Inner Mongolia to be more specific. Anyway, we spent one night in Yurt to experience it. We arrived at night and the staff were very welcoming. It was quite cold so we were glad our Yurt has a heater and a hot shower. It was comfortable to stay and sleep . The staff gave us some kind of disposable bed sheets cover, blanket and pillow covers , we were wondering why but later on we realized, we had to put them on because there were some bugsin our room and luckily we brought repellent with us so it didn't matter to us when we slept. I suggest to some travellers who are going to stay in Yurt in Inner Mongolia in Autumn or Winter. Took a taxi to the renowned 5-star Boyuan Hotel with complete amenities, where our river-view room offered spectacular scenery. ✔️ Saturday breakfast featured authentic Mongolian cuisine, with milk tea and lamb shaomai as highlights. At 10 AM, our rental car was delivered to the hotel. After checkout, we headed to Ulaanhad Volcano🌋. Taking local advice, we chose the highway (toll ~10 yuan) to avoid speed cameras on alternative routes. At the volcano park's south visitor center, our pre-booked homestay helped secure self-drive tickets (40 yuan/person vs. regular 60 yuan - no discounts for seniors/children). We passed 8 volcanoes🌋: - No.8 offers breathtaking summit views but has challenging gravel paths - No.6 is a photography paradise - rent astronaut suits and smoke sticks for epic shots - No.3 has gentle wooden trails suitable for all ages, though summit views are mediocre with weedy craters below ✔️ Stayed at a boutique homestay near No.3 volcano (note: no re-entry after leaving the park). Evening featured immersive bonfire performances with dance interactions and fireworks🎇 (Gatling-style fireworks available at wholesale prices of 30-50 yuan each) - livelier than Chinese New Year! ✔️ Sunday breakfast at the homestay featured freshly made shaomai and milk tea🧋. day1️⃣ 2️⃣ Arrive at Xiangshawan Depart from Xi’an, take the train (soft sleeper for one night) to Dalate West Station, avoiding backtracking. If you really don’t want to take the train, you can fly to Baotou. Stay at Fusha in Xiangshawan for the best value. The hotel includes unlimited scenic area tickets, transportation, three meals buffet, VIP wristband, cable car—all-inclusive at the best price, much better value than staying outside the scenic area. If you want to play in Xiangshawan for two days, this is much more cost-effective. (❗If time is limited and you can only play in Xiangshawan for one day, special forces don’t need to stay inside the scenic area; you can choose hotels in Dalate city.) day3️⃣4️⃣ Hohhot We flew back from Hohhot, so we rented a car for both ways in Hohhot. Take the high-speed train 🚅 from Dalate to Hohhot. 🏠 Accommodation: Highly recommend Shangri-La Hotel Hohhot, right next to the Old Bull Children’s Exploration Museum (a public welfare project by the CEO of Mengniu). Free 🆓 for kids to play, a whole day is not enough. Visit Dazhao Temple for travel photography, check in at various food spots, Kuang Alley, etc. Two days are quite tight. day5️⃣ Chilechuan Alpine Grassland (There are three Chilechuan, don’t get the name wrong. Nearby is Naobao Village.) If time is tight, you can stay only one day in Hohhot and one day in Chilechuan. 🏠 Accommodation: Qingzi Yunchuan Hotel, next to the hotel is an exciting equestrian show with a large venue. The rooms are clean; recommend the room type with a terrace. If you have time, you can visit Naobao Village, which closes at 10 PM. It has a Jiangnan water town feel. We stayed at Anda Resort Center, inside Mongolian yurts, relatively new and clean.
