It is 32 meters tall, with arms spread out 18 meters, standing on the top of the mountain facing the sea, standing in the wind, more shocking than the photo. There is no charge for climbing the mountain. There are 811 steps in total. It is not difficult to climb. There are many viewing platforms along the way. Walk and take pictures, and you will reach the top of the mountain soon. What is special is that you can enter the interior of the statue of Jesus. Take off your shoes, go inside, and climb the stairs again, go up to the shoulder observatory of the statue of Jesus, and you can see the beach and downtown of Vung Tau. Also, the bus seems to be doing some kind of delivery business along the way, so I remember it took about 4 hours with detours and baggage delivery. The bus driver can't get there unless he knows the address, so you have to show him the address in Vietnamese. The statue of Christ can be reached by climbing up the steep stone steps in about 30 minutes. It's not a very big statue, and it's built in a secluded area, so it's actually hard to see from far away. There was a white sand beach nearby, so I think you could go swimming there. (I didn't go to the beach, so I don't know how to get there.) On the way back, there is a bus to Ho Chi Minh City from Vung Tau Bus Terminal (170k), but I think it took about 4 hours again because I picked up people on the way back and I was in the evening rush hour.
