Warm Winter · Cozy Stay - Yanji Jiye Fenglin Private Hot Spring Inn
Opening the heavy oak door, the scent of roasted citrus peel greets you. The innkeeper places the key in a rustic pottery bowl, lined with dried rosemary at the bottom, which rustles softly with a gentle touch.
**Sauna · Breaths in the Hot Mist**
The sauna room is next to the hot spring pool. When you push the door open, the pine oil fragrance comes before the steam. The walls are made of unpolished cedar boards, with fine droplets of water seeping through the grain. When the temperature rises to 70 degrees Celsius, the hot waves wrapped in coolness brush against your cheeks. Between the drops of sweat rolling down, you catch a glimpse of the first snow of the winter drifting outside the small window.
**Private Hot Spring · Flickering Water Shadows**
The indoor hot spring pool is made of terrazzo. We add our own herbal bath pack, and the spring water gradually turns amber. The intelligent temperature control system keeps the water surface constantly at 39°C — said to be the most relaxing temperature for muscles. The frosted glass embedded in the side wall can switch light transmission modes; at this moment, it is set to frosted, softening the snowy scenery outside into an ink wash painting.
**Overnight Stay · Dreams Warmed by Heat**
Under the tatami mats are floor heating pipes, making the soles of your feet warm when you walk barefoot. The down quilt is sewn with lavender seeds, rustling softly when you turn over. Waking up in the middle of the night, you find the sensor night light by the bed automatically glowing with moonlight color, illuminating the old tangerine peel white tea pot still keeping warm on the tea table.
When leaving, the innkeeper slipped a cypress wood fragrance tag into my coat pocket, saying it was made from leftover materials from the sauna room. On the train back, smelling the lingering scent of sulfur and wood on my sleeve, I suddenly missed that pool that was always gently kept at 39°C.
