On the protruding hills of Matsushima Bay, there is a scenic spot called Tsukimizaki. In the 16th century, the military commander Toyotomi Hideyoshi gave to the military commander Date Masamune the large tea room Guanlan Pavilion of the academy-style building. Masamune's son Date Chumune moved it from Fushimi Momoyama Castle to Matsushima. The Matsushima Museum next to Guanlan Pavilion displays valuables such as daily utensils, clothing, military flags, armor and armor, arts and crafts, and ancient documents of the Date family and Sendai clan. The colorful frescoes in Gozama are splendid and unique, and have been designated as an important cultural property. There is also a 1:5,000-scale three-dimensional model of Songdo, as well as thousands of fish and shellfish inhabiting Songdo Bay. You can learn about the history of the Songdo area from a cultural and geographical point of view. It is also a good choice for you to enjoy the Matsushima-style scenery while sipping matcha and sweets (additional charge).
