Istanbul Hidden Gem: Kınalıada🇹🇷
I come to Istanbul every year, and I have a favorite place here where I can escape the city rush and enjoy nature. And it’s Kınalıada.
While most tourists head to Büyükada or Heybeliada, the smallest and quietest of the Princes’ Islands — Kınalıada remains an almost untouched gem.
Just a 30-minute ferry ride, and you’ll find yourself on an island with reddish cliffs. There are no cars here, which makes it the perfect place for long, peaceful walks.
Kınalıada is an ideal day-trip getaway for those who want to experience the authentic, non-touristy side of Istanbul.
⛴️ How to get there:
Ferries depart regularly from Kabataş, Eminönü, Kadıköy, and Bostancı. Travel time is 25 to 40 minutes, depending on the departure point.
✨Traveler tips:
- Visit on a weekday — you might find yourself almost alone on the island.
- Check out the restaurant Teos. It offers great cuisine and a beautiful sea view!
