Kunang-Kunang (Malay for fireflies) is a collection of 20 individual uniquely vintage wooden Malay houses. The houses were collected from the different states in Malaysia with the oldest house being over 200 years old whilst the youngest is just over a century old. At Kunang Kunang we offer the warmth of the Malay culture with the service of an intimate boutique resort with an all-day dining restaurant with buffet styled breakfast. Most of our Villas have an open concept bathroom allowing our guests to always be able to enjoy the tropical sun in the privacy of their own villas. The design of our resort seamlessly incorporates the old with the new, built within the surrounding natural beauty is as our French designed floating pool placed in a lake is the first of its kind in Malaysia. #newyearadventure Really beautiful and friendly place. We stayed 4 nights there and were completely sarisfied. Stuff was very friendly, helpful, happy. Houses great with super beds, very clean, nice bathrooms. Swimmingpool within a lake of seeroses is an attraction. #langkawihotel Kunang Kunang is absolutely magical. It's like stepping into a fairytale — traditional Malay wooden villas built over a lily pond, surrounded by greenery. Our villa had antique furnishings, a romantic canopy bed, and a beautiful open-air bathroom. It felt peaceful and soulful, especially at night when the fireflies came out. Breakfast was served by the water and included local favorites. Ideal for couples who appreciate authenticity, nature, and quiet charm over conventional modern luxury.

A chic hotel on Langkawi with wooden villas only. Each villa is unique and has its own Malay style that will drag your attention just from the general view from outside and then will continue its effect when you enter inside. The villa I stayed at named Villa Teriyang, it has a nice terrace to enjoy the nature and birds singing, the house itself is quite big - 61 m2, has a king bed, mini bar and ac and actually everything that you will need during your stay - even anti mosquito repellent for the room. The unique feature of the room is a wooden bathtub in Japanese style, furako, located on a half open area of your villa with Malay bath robes. Everything in the villa is cosy and stylish. Another beautiful feature about this hotel is a pool surrounded by lotuses, I have never seen that before anywhere and it’s looks absolutely gorgeous. The breakfast are included in the villas’ prices and are in traditional Malay style which is a perfect solution actually. Once staying in this luxurious place, you feel like you are in a truly Malaysian world.
