Location: Lanzarote is situated off of mainland Africa and is part of the Spanish Canary Islands, not named from the bird, but from the Latin word for dogs. Due to it's geographical location, the island receives beautiful sunny days with gusts of wind to cool you down. Things to do: whilst lounging by the pool may be on your to do list on such a sunny island, there are also many activities you can do outside of your hotel, like hiking mountains and volcanoes, scuba diving in the shallow waters off the beach, snorkelling, boat rides and experiencing local culture such as dancing. I travelled by ferry between the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in the most comfortable, fast and economical way. Between both islands they offer two types of service- Fast ferry with the Bocayna Express (for passengers and vehicles) and the mini ferries Buganvilla and Buganvilla Express for passengers only, and at a lower price. Corralejo Ferry Terminal has a ticket office ,Cafeteria, toilets ,parking and luggage trolleys.

villa Amonita, Lanzarote One of the joys of traveling is experiencing unique "homes" in different places, homes I could likely never own. I've always enjoyed staying by the sea when visiting islands, but this time I chose a guesthouse by the volcano. The owners are a Czech architect couple, and the decorative posters in their home showcase their photography📸 from their travels around the world. The guesthouse is located in the small town of Tiagua⛰️ in central Lanzarote, within easy driving distance of all the attractions. Feel free to pick and enjoy the fruits and vegetables growing in the yard. On our first day, we were surprised to find a little hedgehog already enjoying the beautiful pool. Not far from the house is a small supermarket run by locals. On evenings when we didn't want to eat out, we'd walk over and, despite the language barrier, manage to buy a pack of freshly sliced Iberico ham. Back at the guesthouse, we'd enjoy it with melon and the white wine gifted by the owners, watching the summer evening breeze carry the sunset🌄 down behind the volcano.
